-Evelyn telekinetically lifts her Pokédex from her pocket.-
Evelyn's Pokédex: Rookidee, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. A Flying type. It will bravely challenge any opponent, no matter how powerful. This Pokémon benefits from every battle—even a defeat increases its strength a bit. Jumping nimbly about, this small-bodied Pokémon takes advantage of even the slightest opportunity to disorient larger opponents.

Will (leaves Fuka to her own devices): Are all your Pokemon canines like your Boltund then?
Puri (to the Boltund): <You'll probably get to see that cat up close and personal, soon.>
The Meowth has taken notice of Fuka and Seviper's clear intent to battle it. It extends claws and begins using Hone Claws by sharpening his claws on his own body.
Fuka: He's shaprening his claws on himself? He really is a steel-type! So adorable!
Lucy (hiss/sighs): <I guess we're doing this, then.>
Fuka: Lucy, we're going to need to get through that defense. Swords Dance!
Lucy the Seviper grins and begins twisting and turning in place.
The Meowth stops and starts watching the back and forth movement of the Seviper's dance

Kim: "Indeed it is. In that case... I say we should head off to Route 2. The only question now is... how far away is it from where we are?"
Cafe Sonata- Castelia City
(And with that, the lights come on stage. Kim, Dio, and Kaylan are the only three members of Kim’s team on stage— the first one on mic, the second shredding the bass guitar with his new hands, and the third on the drums. Joel, Sinatra, and Paul are all backstage, waiting for their opportunity. Dio has joined in, performing the main bass melody over Ian’s guitar playing, while Kim is snapping her fingers to the beat of the song. Eventually, however, Kim steps up to the microphone, while Ian, Dio and Kaylan continue playing in the background. In a voice very much reminiscent of [Geddy Lee] himself, she begins to sing

Kim:
(Kim paces around the stage, and the band members continue to play their respective instruments. They have clearly had a lot of practice— even Dio, for someone who just got hands— as they sound almost identical to the original recording. Eventually, Kim continues with the song.)
Kim:
(The guitar kicks back in for the chorus, and...)
Kim:
(And cue the opening riff again, on bass this time. Dio grins over at Kim, delighted with his new human form and how the performance is going— even managing to waggle his tongue at her, which causes Kim to giggle slightly before she picks the microphone back up.)
Kim:
(The instrumentation continues as Kim walks around the stage.)
Kim:
(And— cue the chorus.)
Kim:
(She promptly steps to the side and throws her hand out.)
Kim: (to the audience) "Ladies and gentlemen... IT'S SOLO TIME!"
(And with that, Dio and Ian are illuminated by bright spotlights and begin to play the epic guitar solo for [Freewill].)

Everyone else having returned, Colton leaned back in his seat, flicking his wrist while counting off the rhythm.
He looked around, having noticed that those around him were enjoying the music. Not that he could be mad, both Shadow Cast and New Dawn's Dreamers were doing pretty well. It was honestly probably going to be pretty close - he would probably have to pull out the trump card.
The enthusiasm was present, but she seemed to neglect the emotion behind the lyrics. It created a slight divide in his head, but the playing was still halfway decent.

(Upon reaching the route, Kim smiles in satisfaction.)
Kim: "Alright. Here we are." (She looks up.) "Now... when we actually find this Rookiedee, I'd like to try something... a bit different than usual."
Cafe Sonata- Castelia City
EPIC GUITAR SOLO
(Dio happily joins in on his bass, jumping up into the air, waggling his tongue, and generally having a very good time. From backstage, Paul, Sinatra, and Joel are all rocking out, with the former two throwing their hands up in the air in the classic "bull horns" symbol associated with rock music.)
Sinatra: (from backstage) "YEAH!"
Joel: <You go, Dio!>
(Geddy, Elton, Freddie, and Orwell, meanwhile, are all watching the performance in awe.)
Geddy: <Whoa... he plays just like [Geddy Lee]...>
Elton: <And Dio plays just like [Alex Lifeson]! This is the best Freewill performance I've ever seen!>
(Cut back to Dio, who wraps up the EPIC GUITAR SOLO, before pointing towards Kim, who snaps her fingers once again to the beat of the music while counting beats with her other hand— as she is seeing Colton doing in the audience. Kaylan, meanwhile, is still playing his drums. She then stops doing so, and, with a burst of sudden, raw emotion, goes for the mic- and goes full-on into the high notes that defined [Geddy Lee] for much of his early career, all while Dio, Kaylan, and Ian continue to play:)
Kim:
Dio: (happily) "WHOO—!"
(Kim smirks over at Dio, before ending the song off with its final chorus:)
Kim:
(She turns to the other three.)
Kim:
(She points at Dio and Kaylan, and the two of them cry out with her:)
Kim, Dio, and Kaylan:
(Dio promptly wraps up the song with his last bass solo, before Kim makes way for Ian to repeat his opening riff at the end of the song, while Kaylan provides drum accompaniment.)

"Don't get used to it, I'm just making sure you don't escape whatever karmic punishment awaits you," Silas responded running after everyone else.
He and Knight then spoke in unison;
"It is not yet your time, you will not escape so easily."

He caught up to the others fairly easily, "Makes sense the Palace is the Treasure itself..."
"They're kind of more or less that," Ribbon admitted, "Essentially a bunch of fascists who deemed the entire world marred by things not as beautiful as them, their leader wanted to basically enact genocide. They were beaten, but awhile ago a new group popped up, they're... more or less handled."
She pondered a bit as she opened a door in the service station and only found old rusted pokeballs, "I think the ideology just spread out here, fascist ideologies unfortunately have a tendency to reappear."
"I may not be as meta as Pentigan, or as Jessica, but I'm still clever and observant," Stylus admitted as he leaped over another gap, finally crossing the bridge, "Plus I have over 2000 hours on New Nimbasa, and that's not including the overhaul and various story mods."
He entered into the tunnel, "Kind of weird to see it like... this, a frozen apocalyptic wasteland, here in [Russia], I would've figured from what you've said it'd be more... lively."
He pondered, "Could something have gone wrong? Just... all of a sudden the plan for the Monification Weapons hit a malfunction or a snag?"

Kim: (smirking) "Simple. Actually battling the Rookiedee."
Cafe Sonata- Castelia City
(And with that final repetition- and Dio's final added notes- Kim strikes a pose, raising her fist to the sky on stage as the lights go out. The crowd watching promptly erupts in cheers and applause. From backstage, Sinatra, Joel, and Paul are screaming loudly and holding up bullhorn signs, while Geddy is clapping like... well, a seal. Elton, meanwhile, is completely losing it, and is cheering the loudest out of all of them.)
Elton: (completely losing it) <YES! YES—!! THAT WAS AMAZING!!!>
Orwell: (clapping his claws together) <Doubleplusgood, comrade!>
Kim: (smiling, lowering her fist) "Alright! Thank you all, ladies and gentlemen! We will return later!"

Shaun: "Thanks for the inspiration, little bird."
-Midna flies back into Shaun, his eyes flashing yellow before he slides the glasses back on.-
Grass Trainer: "I don't get it...that's our Wooloo! And they don't learn Ice Beam and Shadow Ball!"
-Shaun shrugs and heads onto the pitch.-
-Cheers echo across the stadium, the crowd recognizing the challenger. He might not be Tagg or Pent, but Shaun's made a name for himself.-
-Jessica's in the stands wearing a cheerleader outfit and shaking pom poms.-
Jessica: "A-oi-shi! Kick his ass, honey!"
-Shaun smirks as he crosses his arms and stares at Milo.-
Milo: "Sure are a lot of you J-Teamers this time around."
Shaun: "Listen, why don't you save us both some time and just give me the badge now?"
Milo: "'Fraid I can't. These people are here for a show, after all. And don't get too cocky."
-Shaun chuckles.-
Shaun: "Worth a shot."
-He poses dramatically, striking a Jotaro-esque pose as he salutes Milo mockingly with his last two fingers folded in.-

Some polite applause came from where Colton sat, dwarfed by the applause from the other patrons. Before he could get up, a blue flash caught his attention.
"Pent's gonna be here soon," she said. "And I kind of want to show him what we've been working on for me."
"Really? You're going to go against the owner's request?... though the song isn't much louder than the applause.
"Exactly. After a performance like that we can't afford to not pull out Trump Cards - we can't go [19-2000] before we pick it up, we always need to be picked up."
"Ya right. Hate to say it but ya right - alright, let's do it. After Pent gets here."
Ammy had an idea.

"We're going to take a ten-minute-or-so intermission, so just sit tight!"
A few groans and a few nods met the announcement as she stepped down.
She eyed the door, expectant.

"I could tell you had the enthusiasm and whatnot, and that translated pretty well towards the energy in Ian's playing and your singing, it was also a little distracting, especially when you announced the solo. You didn't seem... cohesive, shall we say. Oh, you still matched meter, but you didn't really have any innate harmony.
"Aside from that, solid performance, solid playing."
Ammy gestured to the front of the stage and gestured for Pent to sit with her.

Kim: “[Don’t Look Back in Anger] is next... I’ll be on the sidelines for that one. Kaylan’ll be singing.”

The Opening Ceremony- past
(Kim smiles, then turns to Elton and Orwell— both of whom nod in her direction, with the former jumping up in excitement. She then nods herself— then steps out onto the pitch, looking out at all the other Trainers surrounding her and waving to the crowd. Eventually, she catches sight of the unusual lettering she saw before, and for a bit her face changes to that of pensive thought.)
Kim: (thinking to herself) So this is the Galarian language... I... might have to look into this a bit further. Perhaps it has inspirations from [Old Norse Runes]...
(She eventually hears the cheering of the crowd, and decides to keep her eyes on them.)
Kim: (thinking to herself) Mark my words... I will catch a lot of Pokemon in this region. And mark my words, Rever... I will battle you one day.
(With that resolved, she grins broadly.)
A Few Days After the Opening Ceremony— The Stormchaser
(It is now a few days later. Kim is reading a pamphlet on the Galarian alphabet, and is writing a few things in her notebook. Once she is done, she puts her notebook and the pamphlet away and turns to Geddy, who is sitting next to her.)
Kim: "Geddy?"
(Geddy turns to her.)
Kim: "Do you think it's time for me to start the Gym Challenge?"
Elton: <Are you KIDDING?! I'd love to start the Gym Challenge! Milo's pesky Grass-types won't stand a chance against me!>
Joel: <Whoa, slow down there, Elton. Excitement is fine and all, but... I figure we should just take it slow for a bit before we actually do this thing.>
Geddy: <Yeah.>
Dio: <Hey, I know! Let's go see if we can't catch ourselves any new Pokemon! I'd certainly love to meet some new friends!>
Elton: (pausing) <Actually... y'know what? Catching new Pokemon sounds EVEN BETTER!> (He jumps up into the air in excitement.) <Good idea, Dio!>
Freddie: (shaking a bit) <I... I really hope none of them are dangerous... I wouldn't want any of you to get hurt...>
Elton: <Ah, I wouldn't worry, Freddie! Kim'll be fine!>
Kim: "Indeed I shall." (then, taking out her notebook) "Though... speaking of catching new Pokemon... I might as well write Orwell and Joel's profiles. I did catch them, after all."
Sinatra: (sighing) <Does she have to do this for every Pokemon she catches?>
Paul: (shrugs) <Ah, it's just somethin' she does often, y'know?>
(Kim smiles, then turns to her notebook and writes:)
NEW POKEMON CAUGHT: ORWELL THE CORPHISH. HE IS... SLIGHTLY ODD, BUT IN A GOOD WAY. ORWELL IS RATHER SMART AND INQUISITIVE, AND VERY CURIOUS ABOUT THE LANGUAGE OF NEWSPEAK— TO THE POINT WHERE HE SPEAKS IN IT PRACTICALLY ALL THE TIME. IT'S PRETTY FUN TO DECIPHER— THOUGH I HAVE A FEELING IT WILL FRUSTRATE REVER TO NO END. ELTON LOVES DECIPHERING HIS NEWSPEAK. LIKE ELTON, HE HAS A THICK BRITISH ACCENT— THOUGH NOT QUITE COCKNEY.
NEW POKEMON CAUGHT: JOEL THE QUAGSIRE. LIKE MOST MEMBERS OF HIS SPECIES, JOEL IS EXTREMELY LAX— BUT UNLIKE MOST MEMBERS OF HIS SPECIES, HE IS VERY WISE AND PHILOSOPHICAL. HE IS BASICALLY WHAT HAPPENS WHEN [OBI-WAN KENOBI] AND [NEIL PEART]'S PERSONALITIES COME TOGETHER AND HAVE A BABY. WHICH SOUNDS VERY ODD NOW THAT I AM WRITING IT ON PAPER.
(She puts away her notebook, and turns straight to her Pokemon.)
Kim: "Alright, the profiles are done." (then, to Ian) "Should we get ourselves to Route... 2, then?"
Castelia City, Café Sonata
(The stage is completely black. All lights have been turned off, and the only thing we can hear is a voice speaking to the audience. Clearly, it is Kimberly Bond’s voice— but she is speaking in a much lower tone than she normally does— which is saying something, all things considered.)
Kim: (to the audience, with a chuckle) "Ladies and gentlemen… we come to you here tonight with a message. I’m sure all of you by this point have heard the devastating news, and let it be known that all of us here are equally as devastated by what happened in Jubilife, Angela and Unova. But we have a goal here tonight. We represent the light of a new day— and we will shine that light over everyone here in Cafe Sonata tonight! May we present ourselves to everyone— men, women, enbies, trans, gays, lesbians, the disabled— everyone that you can think of!"
