They don't really seem to care that much, instead just thinking about what they've just mentioned.

The Zeraora finally looked at Colton, noticing that he was looking back. The feline Pokemon hesitantly approached, eyeing every detail on Colton’s face.

“What?” The Unovan asked.

<... You just look like someone I saw,> he waved off.

“... Alola, 1944?”

Touko and Iris walk into Erstaz.

Iris: "I don't remember this place being here... is it new?"

The two start perusing the racks.

Halis: "...I'mma go find a hat. This converation topic's kinda awkward. Hats aren't awkward."

They wander off for a very short while to do just that, coming back with a hat that's not only out of season, but also far, far too wide-brimmed for them, causing them to have trouble seeing upwards and casting a distinct shadow on them.

Halis: "See? This hat is nice. I like this hat. Might be too big, though... iunno. Do you like this hat?"

It's obvious they mainly just did this because they were bored.

<Alright,> the Zeraora allowed, stowing the waiver under the desk. <Come with me,> he added, walking towards the door.

He knocked once... and waited... and the door opened up to reveal some sort of obstacle course, littered with cold steel bars, salt circles and closed doors. The walls were highlighted pink.

<This room makes it so everyone reacts to these as if they were fae. Your task is to make it to the end of the room and hit the buzzer within the appropriate amount of time. Your path will be blocked off by everything the fae are weak to, so you’ll have to use any understanding you have to make it through without hurting yourself.

<Knock on the doors once, like I did and they’ll open after a random amount of time. Don’t get too impatient and knock again, or the time you’ll have to wait will be reset and doubled.

<Tampering with the salt circles is an instant loss. The steel is cold, and will burn. Best of luck; the countdown starts when you close the door behind you,> he finished.

Shiki, rather bored-looking, draws the knife tucked in her belt and tosses it into the floor in front of the retreating joltik.

Shiki: "And if you're staying on this ship to do it, it's my business."

Ah. Okay so this is the fae part.

-He chuckles awkwardly and starts trying to strategise getting through the room without touching metal or crossing the salt. He vaguely puts a thought in as to whether he'd be entering a building without permission but really that didn't seem to be a factor in this course-

Alright. Three, two, one... Let's go.

-He swings the door closed and starts running-

Ersatz Fae Hall

The room itself doesn’t have much more than the obstacles described - they’re actually kind of out of Pent's way, save for a door at the end of the room Pent has no way to get around.

Through the door, in the next room, was a waist-high steel barricade. A series of them, specifically. There are doors scattered across the room, between the barricades.

There are also salt lines blocking paths off that Pent can’t see, because they’re on the ground.

It's a maze. It's not big enough that Pent could get lost, but he'll be in there for at least a few minutes.

"Kinda makes me wonder what being fae is like," Colton considered, watching the feed on the screen.

<Well, here’s a bowtie modeled after a Sylveon’s that can answer your question,> the Zeraora offered. <But you’ll have to go through the maze yourself. And it’ll shuffle~> he sang, dangling the bowtie.

-Well, a maze that was more a distraction than an outright challenge was just fine for Pent, especially given that it was a decent chance to keep his thoughts from drifting into the implications of becoming a clothing-dependent part-time fae-
