Silversmith: "Regardless, I don't simply catch pokemon for the sake of catching them. I usually catch them unintentionally, in some sort of peril... usually out of necessity. Why do you catch pokemon? And, while you're at it, how did you come across Mischief and Maverick? And Ophidia, come to think of it."

Ophidia took the compliment with a sort of "just as I thought" attitude. At the mention of potentially being hungrier she thought a moment, licking her chops.Ophidia: <Logically speaking, yes. I am sssignificantly larger, after all. And I thusss need more food, although I can ssstill photosssynthesssizzze.>
Shadow became dead silent for a moment, looking at the little disguised Zorua curled up in his arms.
Shadow: I met Mischief in my house. She was raiding the kitchen, and squeezed into a space too small for her, so it took a moment to pry herself out. Then we were both just staring at each other. She was terrified, she thought I was going to hurt her. The little pup was filthy and starved, she was little more than a baby at the time, and already traumatized and packless. I got on my knees and coaxed her over. I gently bathed her and fed her, and she took to me. You're one of the few other humans she doesn't run from on sight or hide her true appearance from. Every time she sleeps at night she has the same nightmare, seeing the same monsters. The monsters are what sees when she looks at humans. And I met Maverick on Route 13. Mischief and I went there to study the local Absol, when we were attacked by a Pelipper. Out of nowhere the Pelipper was hit by a Psycho Cut. When the dust settled, Maverick was standing there. He saw we were all but defenseless, so he defended us. He guided us through his home, then asked to join us. If not for Maverick, I'd still be trying to catch a Pokemon to battle with. Mischief's sweet, but useless in battle. And Ophidia's a legit, normal catch through battle. Oddly enough, she didn't use Attract on Maverick then, only after I caught her.

She pranked him, awfully, but she also pranked Shadow and clearly liked him. He also wondered about her history. His nightmares were triggered by some previous event. Perhaps her's were as well... And Maverick. Silversmith found it difficult to imagine heroic tendencies on him.
Silversmith: "Hmmm. Mischief's is a tragic tale. I wonder if there is some way to repel nightmares..."
Silversmith imagined a drowzee eating his dreams.
Silversmith: "Never mind. Why do you suspect I've garnered such favor with Mischief?"
