Now that I think about it, on my first run through this place, I never really got the chance to look around, y'know...?

Bastion and I were chasing a criminal organization called "The Nameless" who were trying to escape to a safe spot where they can kill themselves.

-thinks to self for a moment...-

Me: ...and before you say it, yes... That is a weird sentence...

...but this is the place where I met Piper and Bastion met Misango...

...and now, I get to explore the caves of Mt. Moon as our quest to restore Kanto's light continues!

Silversmith sat on the public bench, looking left and right, high and low, making sure there were no other people near him. His breloom, Cortez, caught up with him, still shouting.

Cortez: <What if that psychic voice thingie was gonna do something evil!? What would you do then?>

Silversmith: "I don't know! I'm incapacitated right now!"

Cortez: <You don't look incapaciwhatsit to me.>

Silversmith: "Look, I get it, you care about me. But you can't possibly understand!"

Cortez: <Said the sixteen year old boy.>

Silversmith: "Ad hominum. Are you afraid of the dark? Ghosts? Bugs? Anything that doesn't make sense?"

Cortez: <Well, no.>

Silversmith: "Then you can't possibly sympathize! An irrational fear is just that: irrational. I can't shake it, I can't fix it, polymorphism is everywhere, I'm worthless!"

Cortez: <You could, like, conquer your fear. Isn't that a classic ending to stories?>

Silversmith: "And how do I do that?"

Cortez: <Well, you face it no?>

Silversmith: "How?!"

Cortez: <Well, we could go back to that shop place,—>

Silversmith: "No! Never again!"

Cortez: <But I wanted to talk to Millicent and Guiscard again! Armando wanted to ask them about that famous blacksmith guy!>

Silversmith: "There's literally no way."

Cortez: <That's what I said! But then I saw your pokef—>

Silversmith: "We do not speak of that event."

Cortez: <It literally happened yesterday!>

Silversmith: "We're rabbit holeing. What do I do now?"

Cortez: <Well, maybe you wouldn't be so paranoid of were-mons if it was to late anyways.>

Silversmith: "...What are you suggesting?"

Cortez: <Well, if you simply let yourself get were-moned, you wouldn't have to be paranoid anymore, and you would be forced to deal with your fear! Both problems solved!>

Silversmith: "And if I were afraid of swords, would you suggest I stab myself?"

Cortez: <Well, that would actually hurt you.>

Silversmith: "And were-monism wouldn't?"

The argument went round in circles.

-A voice pipes up from behind Silversmith-

Blitz: "Yo, sounds like you've got some trouble going on?"

-it's a young man, apparently 18, in casual clothes waving at Silversmith and Cortez-

Silversmith: "But if the trolley lever was pulled, putting the trolley onto the left track, causing three more people to be converted to were-monism—"

Cortez: <You're forgetting the third guy on the left track.>

Silversmith: "Right, the guy with the increased utility from—"

Blitz piped in.

Silversmith: "Oh. Yes sir. I apologize if I disturbed you, sir. There's some evil psychic thing at Mt moon, but I'm to damn paranoid to go near anyone. Please don't come to close..."

Cortez: <You know how some people are afraid of heights? That's him, but with polymorphism. Some were-mon got too close and now...>

Pewter City Pokemon Center

-He waves dismissively at a darkened window before sticking his hands in his pocket-

Blitz: "Yeah, I heard something about that. Sounds like there's somebody on it already, so I'm not too worried about it just yet..."

-He shrugs, and glances between the Breloom and his trainer-

-The fact that his eyes are pink is probably just a trick of the lack of light outside, right?-

"But that doesn't sound like your problem at the moment?"

Silversmith squinted, and concluded that his emotions and poor lighting caused some sort of illusion regarding the stranger's eyes.

Silversmith: "Well, sir, I suppose I'm dealing with a more overarching problem at the moment. I've had my views toppled quite recently, and had many... experiences I don't wish to discuss. Regardless, I am currently plagued with an irrational, paralyzing fear of other people. Specifically regarding were-mons, and polymorphism in general. Do you have any irrational fears? Heights? The dark?"

Cortez remained silent.

Mt. Moon

Eris casts a glance around, and flicks out her staff. Just in case.

Eris: "Here goes nothing..."

She starts walking into the cave, flanked by Lifthrasir and Red.

Sinnoh, The Pendragon residence

Mordred: "You ever get the feeling something batshit crazy is going to happen?"

Artoria: "Yearly, around this time."

Mordred: "Oh, yeah. April 1st."

All are significantly abnormal in a normal world... All are significantly normal in an abnormal world.

Blitz: "Irrational ones... Hm..."

-His gaze wanders briefly out the window in search of an answer-

"Everyone I know dying before I do?"

-Mentally-Though I guess that one's not really irrational

-He shrugs-

"Unless being paranoid I'm gonna ruin someone's life by screwing something up one of these days counts, but that seems kind of vague"

Silversmith: "Ah, a man of excellent moral character. To fear so greatly the ruining of your fellow man's life indicates a high degree of empathy."

Cortez: <Uhh, I'm not sure that's what he meant—>

Silversmith: "Although I would hardly call that irrational. Heck, I would call it desirable. Tell me, sir, how does one attain such a noble desire as caring about others so much? I surely lack it... I can't even walk through a crowd of people to do the right thing."

Blitz: "Hm. That's actually a pretty good question..."

"My parents run a daycare out in Hoenn, and they made me work for my allowance. So I guess caring for pokemon has always been a thing for me, family business and all. And at some point it just kinda carried over to people too. Though if you're talking about not dealing with the lights going out thing, you're probably being too hard on yourself, that's probably not something just anyone can fix."

-He pauses, and perhaps realizing this was already getting into 'long story' territory takes a nearby seat-

"Anyway, guess I should probably give my name if I'm talking about the family business. I'm Blitz Thorne, what's yours?"

Silversmith recoiled as Blitz sat down, but composed himself and responded.

Silversmith: "Sorry... Jackson Silversmith. I prefer to go by Silversmith. So man is made good by experience... Interesting. While I agree that, as one person, I can't do much about the light disappearing, if I can be so much as a tiny gear in the machine that brings back light, I am obligated to do so. Yet here I sit, skulking. For all I know, all the hero's pokemon will be completely spent, and whatever is doing this will be in critical condition. One well placed mach punch could save the light... and if I decline to show up, then my negligence may very well be the demise of light."

Cortez: <So why don't you listen to me and get back out there?!>

Silversmith: "I don't know! I can't help it!... I apologize again, for shouting."

Shadow: What will we find when we reach the source of that horrid moaning? And will we have to fight it?

Mischief: <I don't know. But I'll protect you with my life if I have to.>

Shadow: Mischief, if anyone's protecting anyone, I'm covering you. I refuse to let you get hurt.

Maverick: <Whatever happens, we need to stay together. We've never depended on someone outside our little group, and now would be a bad time to change that.>

Shadow: I agree. Let's stay close. We could be ambushed at any moment.

Blitz: "Trust me, I know of at least three recent near apocalypses that were averted without you. My friends are pretty experienced with the whole saving the world thing."

-He gives a subdued chuckle and reaches out to pat Cortez on the head-

"Now, if you really want to go to Mt Moon, I don't imagine you'll make things any worse by at least observing... But it's practically a guarantee you'll run into a couple of nosy weremon in the process."

Lila: <Ok, let's go! Actually, one second...>

-She takes her scarf off, withdraws Marie and Tutti for the time being, then puts her scarf back on.-

Eva: Yippee! I've always wanted to see the moon stone in the middle of Mt Moon!

Apollo: <Yeah! It's shiny and stuff!>

Cady: Can you guys please focus?

Merah: I guess they are quite like-minded.

Cady: Apollo, I'm gonna withdraw you, but I'll send you out when I need your help.

Apollo: Okie dokie!

-Cady withdraws Apollo.-

Kat: Ok. Savannah, you can come back now before you trip over something.

Savannah: <Ok- Woah!>

-She is withdrawn just as she trips over a stone.-

Kat: I know it might not help, seeing as Necrozma eats light, but Roger, can you please use flash so we can see better?

Roger: <O-ok... Please don't eat me Necrozma...>

Cecelia: <It's ok! I'll make sure they don't eat you!>

Roger: <Um... Thanks!>

-Roger uses flash, opening his ear flaps and emitting light from the organs inside.-

Gwen: Oh phew, I caught up to you guys. I was this close to scratching that guy who was scared of weremons. Thank goodness he didn't realise what he almost got there.

Lila: <Yeah, that's a relief. Let's go!>

-The party walk into the cave.-

Bastion would pull out a flashlight and walked into the cave, followed by Milagros, Sephy and Colin.

Cortez smiled at the attention, but recalled his ability and prayed it wouldn't go off.

Silversmith: "Well, yea, I probably wont be the nail, but is it really worth the risk? ...Probably just the paranoia talking. Thanks for your assurance, Blitz... A guarantee? Why? I mean, how common are were-mons? It's not paranoia if everybody is actually out to get you..."

Silversmith swallowed and glanced around the room once more, but saw no-one except Blitz.

Blitz: "Statistically it's pretty rare. But frankly all my current friends are attracted to weirdness for some reason, whether they're seeking it out or it just randomly happens around them. So weremons, transformation trinkets, aurics, psychics, obscurists, aliens, cyborgs, immortals, eldritch abominations, I've seen all of that. And Mt Moon is gonna be a beacon for anyone with a supernatural or 'superpowered' inclination right about now."

-He leans back in his seat to give Silversmith his space. Noticing the concerned look, Blitz raises a hand to hold off on further questions for a moment-

"And before you ask, yes I can understand pokemon. But I'm not a weremon, so not infectious or anything"
