Colton stepped out while Ammy stayed behind, pausing to take a closer look at the scarf Halis was talking about. "Huh," she sighed. "I never really bothered to notice, but you're right. Guess it's just another property of the eldritch accessories," she decided as she stepped into the module, both pairs of headphones on her head - the vulpine headphones around her neck and the human headphones on her ears.

"Yo, Ammy!" Colton hollered from a table. "Don't forget to leave me some spare fabric to contain the Spiral Stone!"

Ammy flashed a thumbs-up and walked out, pausing to say "Hi, Fiver," to Pent.

Me: I hear that the personality of a Pokemon reflects that of their Trainer...

...it's just something I've heard, but there is some basis to that theory...

Halis gets up and follows them out of the elevator, being sure to carry the parts that drag along the ground so it doesn't get caught in the door.

Halis: <Oh, right, the stone... I've been thinking about other stuff so much I forgot for a minute that's why we're here. This does make me wonder further, though... are there other stones like it as well? Well, in the sense that they do weird stuff, I mean... There very well could be, since my little rock collection back in Pewter wasn't exactly exhaustive or all-encompassing.>

"Sometimes, but not all the time. They aren't blank slates after all, they have their own attitudes and temperaments. Actually, I've been in their company and only their company for so long it's hard for me to differentiate them from people half the time. Probably why I'm always releasin' them."

Des makes Jovi stop. Not at what Ian said but at what stood before.

"...who set up all these fences like this? I know it's always been like this but everytime I see it it always shocks me."

He goads Jovi forward.

"Eh, nuttin' a kid like you need to worry about. There are forces at constant work in our world. Some to save it, some to tear it asunder. And sometimes those forces might just be one in the same..."

Des arches his eyebrow really high up.

"Oh really? I thought for sure they disbanded a few years back..."

He stops and looks over at the coast that runs parallel to the route.

"Hey, you have a mon that knows Surf?"

"We found the Stone in Pewter City," Colton recalled. "Behind the center, hidden in a pile of rocks," he specified.

Meanwhile Ammy pulled out the headphones, the reference sheet and a bag of materials. "... having a hud in the mask would be useful," she realized, drawing a screwdriver to pull apart the human headphones.

"Ammy, you should probably make the mask first!" Colton observed, having joined her at her table.

Me: I had a run-in with a Team Rocket Grunt 5 years ago in their home base in Kanto...

...and yeah, there are still some Team Rocket Grunts out there...

-I rifle through my Key Items Pocket and pull out the Boot-

...and I won this boot from one back in Celadon City earlier this week.

Des stares at the boot for a bit. He stretches out a hand

"May I see? Also, about that mon that knows Surf..."

Oshawittle and Totoro would be the most likely 'mons I'd give the Surf TM/HM to...

Halis observes, having hopped onto the other side of the table that Colton and Ammy are at.

Halis: <Hm... I don't know much about electronics, but I'd think being able to tell what you're doing is more important than covering your face a bit. Then again, the closest thing I've seen to someone using technology to fight things directly was an infomerical for some sort of fancy bow. Or, wait, was that a video game commerical? It might've been...>

It's obvious they're not going to be much help in this process.

Halis: <Also, it was my pile of rocks, not just a random one.>

Des starts inspecting the boot. "I could try to wrangle a Tentacruel for us to ride, but it might just be quicker to go through the maze. What's your idea?"

"Yeah, this is def a Rocket boot..."

HU Ds are pretty dang awesome. Gonna have one on my proper raid gear, using tech rather than uh... Weird obscura method my current costume has. Speaking of!

-He slips his backpack off-

"You did say that," Colton observed, leaving Ammy to fashion the mask. She took some scissors and began to cut the shapes out of some plastic, a hot glue gun heating up beside her.

"Wait," Ammy said, speaking up. "If you assembled the pile of rocks, and found the Spiral Stone within it after the fact, doesn't that mean one of the stones was turned into it?"

Halis: <...Wait, did it? How would that happen, then? I sure know for a fact that I couldn't make anything like that. If I could, I think you'd be a lot more interested in me right now... plus I would've made a more interesting stone than that, anyway.>

Halis thinks about this.

Alright! Duck, we're deploying!

-His phone buzzes softly as a pokeball and some piece of jewelry flings out of the backpack. He catches both items and immediately slings the pokeball forward-

Jammer, deployment technique!

-The Magnezone sent out picks up the backpack by one handle and holds it open as Pent dives in!-

-Weird.-

Colton looks at Halis with incredible doubt before his attention is diverted by Pent and whatever he just did.

"Oh, he's getting the costume," he realized as he continued to help Ammy cut out the mask's pieces.

They look back over to catch Colt's glare just before they turn away.

Halis: <Hey, what's with that look? You don't believe me or something? I—>

Halis is interrupted by the sudden actions of Pent, and they just... watch that whole scene unfold.

Halis: <...Well, that's certainly something.>

-I pull the HM for Surf out of my Technical Machines pocket-
