JD stepped in and regretted the scent, in retaliation he shut off his olfactory sensors and began to walk around the room, looking for clues and sighs.

"Okay... no signs of a scuffle, sneak attack, kidnapper got in or knew the individual."

His eyes started to glow a soft yellow as he activated his scanners, turning to the computer and booting it up with a wireless command, he enjoyed that function Clever put in.

"Clever you there?"'

Before JD's eyes appeared the silver-blue metal figure of Clever-OS, the red eyes and grin stretched across the face.

"Hey JD... need something?"

"Can you connect to the computer through me and scan the file inside? I need to find anything that might show what happened."

"Really dedicated to this detective stuff, sure I can do that."

The computer monitor flickered to life as a metal angular face appeared on it for a brief moment, JD turned to Sholto, "Just called in some help. Advantages to having a cybernetic meatsuit is stuff like that."

Not helping the situation is that the computer started to hum tunes from a old movie, something about a lack of strings.

JD proceeded to use his scanners and followed the chair to the window, and to the dorm door, hoping to find traces of anything.

The talk with Diane had invigorated Silas, kicked him into a creative drive and brought out the engineer within him, it hadn't just been arm designs, he was now actively looking at other ship designs and ideas.

The current hologram on the table he was looking over was a single seater pod ship, the cargo bay had plenty of space and could easily fit a ship of any design. Silas being the nerd he was, especially with the Foxverse experiences still fresh in his mind even a year later, had designed it based on one of the Delta-wing fighters.

The design itself while visually stunning was totally unrealistic, it needed a version of the Asimov Engine that wasn't made yet, small enough to fit and power this thing, RCS thrusters to control its movement precisely that also needed a fusion reactor and engine small enough... and finally lots of Inertial plating so he could sustain High G burns without crushing his insides.

Silas sighed wistfully at the design and closed the file, Hacks sitting nearby.

~Well... What now?~

Silas gave it some thought, "I might just send Diane a blueprint to modify, good science is built on the backs of giants, great science is made through sharing information."

He tapped some keys and a arm design appeared, it was simplistic, robust, and modifiable, "We've got this nice little design made by Johnathan, the idea is a arm that could be easily adapted, thus it's durable and easy to modify."

~I feel like there's a "but" in there.~

Silas sighed, "Yeah... The design's robust chassis is only achieved through more durable internals, which tend to slow things down and might weigh more, meaning that my left arm will not be as dexterous as my old flesh one."

~You're right handed anyways.~

"Yeah," Silas remarked, staring that the holographic blueprint, "yeah..."

-as Sholto pokes it, the computer comes out of sleep mode, showing a password prompt-

-of course, the disk isn't encrypted, so the password is not especially strong protection here-

-apart from generic operating system logs and caches, the newest file on the disk is a Morsecode Messenger chatlog-

Nelly: <We really need to get away from these assholes>

-she grabs Nelly, roughly runs her through a tub of suds, then gives her fur a weird rich-person cut and dyes her feathers different colors-

-As the man tries to escape he hears a shout-

-an odd dagger-like Obscura construct emerges from the shadows and hits the man in the chest, causing him to be held in place-

-Shortly after Medea herself emerges from the shadows and places a hand on the side of the man's neck-

-the man struggles as a good chunk of his vitality is drained into her before he collapses, panting heavily, the construct dissapearing-
