-Pleth tumbles backwards, digging a claw into the ground to catch herself as she narrows her eyes at the Vigoroth-

Ever: Grass Knot, Pleth.

Pleth: -eyes flash, as she makes a series of hand signs, and twirling blades of grass burst from the gym floor, tugging at the Vigoroth's leg- <Let's see how quick you are once I've got you all tangled up!>

Dunsparce didn't stop being a thing or anything.

Petalburg Gym

-The Vigoroth is tangled up by Pleth's Grass Knot, taking a decent amount of damage-

Vigoroth: <What I am is a master gardener and I think you need to be pruned!>

Norman: "Flamethrower!"

-The Vigoroth lets out a stream of flame, with the goal of both damaging Pleth and freeing himself-

Ever: Grass Knot again!

Pleth: <Seriously though. Bear? Monkey? Pig? All of the above?>

-Pleth generates more grass around the Vigoroth, increasing the amount of tinder at its feet. At the same time, however, she only narrowly evades the Flamethrower, singeing her head leaf-

-Ludmilla dusts off her beret before putting it back on. A Gigalith walks up under the tree she's sitting in.-

Tectonic: <Scarecrow, we've been searching the area for weeks now. If she was here, we'd have found at least some sign of her.>

-Ludmilla sighs as she takes off her sunglasses and wipes her face. Nearby, a certain Octillery is having a tentacle bandaged by a certain Blissey.-

Spider: <OWOWOWOW! Watch what you're doing!>

Doomsday: <Oh, cut the piss and vinegar! It's a splinter! I can amputate this damn thing if that's what you'd prefer!>

Spider: <Eep!>

-A Gengar pops up next to Ludmilla, eating a Sitrus berry.-

Nix: <Also, we're not especially "good" at searching trees.>

Liberty: <THAT TREE WAS COMMUNIST, I SWEAR!>

Chest Demon: <Hey, don't blame me! When the other demons said they'd cursed you guys, all I had to go by was that you were the first to free them! So when a Nosepass with a heroic red hat comes up and unlocks me, I'm left to assume he's the legendary hero.>

-He pauses upon Maggie's suggestion-

Chest Demon: <Well, I guess I could... The whole dramatic spiel isn't as satisfying the second time, but it would be pretty disappointing to have it be wasted on some hero wannabe. So just... bear with me, okay?>

-The Vigoroth is tripped up by Fire Knot and ends up burned himself-

Vigoroth: <I am a sloth and how dare you tarnish my beautiful garden!>

Ren: I guess we'll have to rough it. It's a good thing I kept the camping equipment I purchased when I we went up Route 119...

-Ren Looks and Kitsune, Rio, and Lumen.-

Ren: Rio, can you take Lumen in to Fortree to get supplies for a few days while Kitsune and I set up the tent?

-Keys lets him self out of his ball.-

Keys: <I have a better idea!>

Ren: If it involves "using a back door" to get us lodging in Fortree, then no.

Keys: -shrugging- <I can't say that was one of my plans, but I had a better idea.>

Ren: -pulling out the tent from one of his bags- I'm listening.

-Keys pulls out a shiny white disc marked "Hoenn TM94 Secret Power" from somewhere.-

Keys: -smirking- <It involves this.>

Ren: -blinks- Where did you get that?

Keys: <I'm a key. I used a back door.>

Ren: -eye twitch-

-Ren inhales-

Ren: Fine. I doubt I'll get a better answer than that - but you better have paid for that.

Keys: -mock indignant- <I am a key, sir! Not a thief!> -normally- <So are you going to teach me this move or not?>

Ren: -taking the disc from his Klefki- I know I'm going to regret this...

-Ren presses the disc to Keys' head.-

Keys: -smirks as he learns a new move- <"I solemnly swear I'm up to no good.">

Ren: Yeah. I'm regretting it already.

-Dune is out and about, looking rather lost in thought. People who have seen him like this will likely know precisely what he's thinking about.-

-A rather frazzled-hair looking Maria may land near a Dune on a Noivern.-

-Dune blinks as he snaps back to reality.-

Dune: Oh, uh, hey Maria.

-She smiles-

Diane: Well, it's nice to meet you, Landon! You from around here?

Chest Demon: <Okay, good. Ahem...>

-The voice from the black chest clears its throat...-

Chest Demon:    WHEE HEE HEE HEE! FOOOOOOOOLS!   

-He rises out of the chest, coating the room in purple mist.-

Chest Demon:    Only a complete fool would so foolishly blunder into a trap that had already been sprung! For your foolishly foolish tomfoolery, I present you with none other than your most horrifying curse yet! Oogly boogly boo!   

-Sparkles appear around any relevant Pokemon.-

Chest Demon:    Ha! You're cursed! Be afraid! And do you know why? Because now, you have the horrible fate of dispersing fog everywhere you go! Never again shall you be missed in the mist! Trying to hide from your enemies? Futile!   

-To prove a point, some of the purple mist around the Pokemon who now know Defog dissipates.-

Chest Demon:    Even worse, even if it's not fog, you're not safe! Rocks, dust, smoke, even Light Screen and Reflect will be blown away by the terrifying power you have been cursed with! Whee hee hee!   

-The purple mist returns.-

Chest Demon:    Do you understand what this curse means for you?

Near Fortee, Past

-Rio and Lumen have been sent into Fortee to get supplies as Ren and Kitsune follow Keys as he searches for a tree.-

-Kets spots a tree with a wide trunk a quicky floats over too it.-

Keys: <YES! This is PERFECT!>

-Keys' silver key with the Seal of Rassilon◊ gleams as he pushes it into the left side of the trunk.-

Keys used Serect Power! Keys used Hidden Power - AST to modify his move! Serect Power became Secret Power - AST!

-Lines of light appear outlining what is appearently a very tall and wide door in the trunk of the tree. As Keys remmoves his key from the trunk, a knot big enough for an andult to press their hand on appears as white, green, and blue moss grows on the tree.-

-The door is well hidden, but it would be obvious if someone examined it closely.-

Keys created a Secret Base!

Keys: -pressing on the knot- <Welcome to our home away from home in Hoenn!>

-The door open outwards and Ren and Kitsune look inside, their faces bathed in an warm, inviting light.-

-Ren and Kitsune's jaws drop.-

Diane: I'm checking out the scenery around here, mostly. A few of my friends came here with me to Lavaridge, mostly for the hot springs, but I've always been a little adventurous, so I decided to check out around here.

Landon: Huh. I don't see a lot of people interested in the scenery of the routes. Usually they all rush through to get to popular places, like the Gyms, or the Mall.

A Haunter appears near Landon. It's making a bunch of apples float with Psychic.
