-Herbert is cautiously opening one eye, expecting to see the visage of Maul hovering by his bedside once again - only to jump back with equal surprise upon seeing Alice instead.-

Herbert: GAH! Dear Arceus, please don't do that again...

Alice: Good morning to you too. I apologise to wake you at such an early hour and in such an unnerving fashion, but I have to inform you that me and my team will be leaving shortly.

Herbert: What? You mean leaving Holon?

Alice: No. We will be staying in Holon. But to be perfectly blunt, staying in a backwater fishing village such as this one and merely cooing at the flashing lights in the sky is a waste of time when we are in such a rich and mostly unexplored region. I am heading north. One settlement in particular has piqued my curiosity.

Herbert: But... what about the group? What about sticking with the J-Team?

Alice: What about it?

Herbert: Well, back in Challenger's Cave you said you'd be travelling with the J-Team for a while!

Alice: I said I might be travelling with them for a while. I will confess, however, that outside of that Iridis fellow there have been few amongst their ranks that interest me. For the most part, I was staying with you, but I believe that you do not want to accompany me on this venture of mine.

Herbert: Of course not! This is... well, it's...

-He pauses for a moment, then sighs.-

Herbert: ...You'll keep in touch at least, won't you?

Alice: As much as I would like to offer you that assurance, the area in which I am venturing to is within the reach of some of Holon's most powerful magnetic storms and likely has little to no human population. Communication will be difficult if not impossible.

Herbert: In that case, then...

-He pulls her into a tight hug. Alice doesn't resist, and in fact returns the gesture.-

Herbert: Stay safe, okay? I don't want anything to happen to you...

Alice: Of course. The same goes for you as well, Lucius.

-The two pull away from each other.-

Alice: Well, I believe I should be departing now. Arsenic is getting restless. I shall see you again in around three months. Farewell, Lucius.

Herbert: Yeah... bye, Alice.

-Alice nods, and walks out of the Centre.-

Herbert: Well, that was unexpect-

Maul: ~Dawn of the second day.~

Herbert: GAH! Arceus, I just... why, Maul?

Maul: <...>

Joulant-Coulombia Route

-Alice has gathered her team, and together they are heading out of town along the route to Coulombia City.-

Arsenic: <So, how are we going to get there, ma'am?>

Belladonna: ~We walk.~

Cyanide: <Aw, man.>

Arsenic: <What? But that's going to take ages!>

Belladonna: ~What do you propose we do instead? Find a Wailord to carry us over there?~

Arsenic: <...That sounds like a pretty good plan, actually.>

-Belladonna facepalms - a rather impressive feat for an Exeggcutor.-

Alice: The journey may take a while, I will admit. But since I am hardly a fan of doing nothing but walking for a week, I think it may be wise to acquire an alternate means of transport.

-The group continue.-

Ravnica

A certain winged Gardevoir watches over the city on high. A certain winged Luxray flies up to her. "Isperia. It's been a while. What brings you to Sunhome? Are you bringing the latest 12,000 volumes of laws?"

Isperia shakes her head. "No, we're only up to 11,564."

"That was sarcasm, Isperia."

"I... I knew that."

"Anyway, what requires you to disrupt Boros business to see me?"

"There are humans on their way. Niv-Mizzet expects them here within a day."

"I knew that. The one called Sophie talked to my underlings earlier. Some mortal called Kerri-Lynn."

"No, there's another one coming. One called Alice, apparently."

"Interesting... The scientist has no connection to her?"

Isperia shakes her head. "None that we can ascertain."

"Then we can't protect her."

"Indeed. But be on alert, at least. If Rakdos stirs from the company, she may be the last one we need to protect."

Aurelia stands. "Thank you for the update, Isperia. Now, I assume you have pressing business in determining the color of the lawbooks."

"We determined that yesterday. We kept them gray."

"Sarcasm."

"Right..." With that, Isperia flies away.

Dragonspiral Tower - Present

Jacob: -Having spent his entire time after going into the tower resuming trying to catch a Dratini, he has yet to leave for Holon-

"You know, I don't understand why I haven't gotten a bite yet. Maybe I'm doing something wrong...?"

-The line is suddenly tugged on-

Jacob: "Finally. Watch this be a Magikarp or some other common thing."

-He reels in the line and fishes out...-

Argentum: <Hello.>

Jacob: "........."

-Throws Argentum back into the water-

- May or may not be heading to the Giant Chasm with Wolf to visit Kyurem -

Holon, somewhere beyond Coulombia City

Arsenic: <...We're lost, aren't we, ma'am?>

Cyanide: <We're not lost. We just don't know where we are, which way we're going, or what's happened to our map.>

Belladonna: ~So... we're lost, is what you're trying to say.~

Arsenic: <How long have we been walking for again?>

Belladonna: ~Four hours.~

Arsenic: <Great...>

Alice: Hmm... I don't understand it. We left Coulombia hours ago, and have been following the northernmost path ever since. Even without a map, we should have reached some sort of landmark by now.

Belladonna: ~It's times like this when I begin to suspect that Palkia is just screwing with us.~

Beyond Coulombia City

Alice may or may not see tall spires in the background.

Think Kyurem is going to like the plushie?

Holon, somewhere

-Alice does indeed notice the spires in the distance, and gives a small nod.-

Alice: Ah. Civilisation at last. Holon City, perhaps? I believe that is the only area this far north with such a level of urbanisation.

Belladonna: ~Because of course, those archaic spires just scream "advanced research lab", don't they?~

Alice: The Holon Ruins, then? I will be honest, at this point any recognisable landmark is a welcome change of pace. We will be able to ascertain our whereabouts once we arrive.

-They set off towards the spires.-

Cyanide: <...Do you think they'll have any good restaurants there?>

Arsenic: <Oh, shut up, Cyanide.>

The outskirts of Ravnica

A group of Zoroark notice Alice's arrival. "Lord Lazav should know about this..." They vanish into the shadows.

Sophie bumps into Alice on the outskirts of the city. "Oof- Oh, hey, there. I was expecting you! What's your name?"

Ravnica outskirts

-Alice is bumped into, and looks Sophie up and down curiously.-

Alice: You were expecting me? I was not aware that I had given any notification that I intended to come here, assuming that this is Ravnica, as I am coming to suspect. And I would rather not give my name until you give me yours.

Cyanide: <Paranoid much?>

Arsenic: <It's only paranoia if they aren't out to get you.>

Cyanide: <But they aren't out to get us!>

Arsenic: <Ah, but that's what they want you to think!>

- Nods -

Yeah, I'm sure he will like it.

"Ah, yes, you're new to Holon, aren't you? Niv-Mizzet notified me of your imminent arrival- long story, yes- and so, er... Where was I? Ah yes, my name. I'm Sophie~ I have been studying Ravnica for the last couple of years- you knew it's name! You probably read one of my case studies then! That's awesome! ... What was I saying? Er..."

-smiles, then looks around- I think this is the entrance, isn't it?

Ravnica outskirts

-Alice gives a rather belated sigh at Sophie.-

Alice: The name is Alice. Alice O'Sullivan. I am indeed new to Holon, but I'm afraid that my knowledge of Ravnica comes entirely from reading its name on a map. I found it rather odd that such a large settlement with such a small population could exist this far north. That's my reason for coming down here. To take a look. I will confess that my curiosity is easily piqued. So, would you care to explain who this Niv-Mizzet is, and how he knew I was coming this way?

Sophie opens her mouth to speak, but a certain oversized red Druddigon lands before she can get the words out. ~I heard my name.~ He furrows his brow. ~You must be Alice. I am Niv-Mizzet, one of the founding members of Ravnica, and smartest being in Holon.~

Sophie mutters, "And so modest."

~Hush, mortal, before I light you on fire again. Anyway, as I was trying to say, I lead the Izzet League, a group of thinkers, philosophers, experimenters, inventors, and tinkerers. We laid down the infrastructure for the city thousands of years ago. And now, mostly we blow stuff up. But in the name of SCIENCE!~ He flies to the top of a spire. ~You'd best keep up mortals, I get bored easily.~
