One of the announcements was that the game would be released with 50 characters. The original game launched with 32 characters, then added 9 more in DLC for a final roster of 41. One of those characters, a 3rd-party from one of Araki's previous works, seems to have been cut, which means 10 newcomers.
Frankly, they probably could have gotten away with just calling it All Star Battle 2.

For reference Vitamin C is a Stand from Part 8. It makes people soft. Its terrifying.
No, I meant why would there be 10 new characters? Although that does sound like a really cool stand.
I thought JOJO All-Stars already had 50 characters, I didn't know about it having 41 characters before. I wonder if this means they're going to recycle some characters from Eyes of Heavens?
Speaking of which, how was the reception for that game? Last time I checked people were disappointed with it.
I found it to be meh, but that might be because I'm not exactly the biggest fan of arena brawlers.
Help me. I can't get it out of my head. Two characters have already been... I want to say leaked, but not really, they were just accidentally in official screenshots. One was a newcomer in Eyes of Heaven, but the other is completely new.
Yes, I saw a video that was discussing that, but I thought both characters were already in Eyes of Heaven?
I was too put off by the fact it didn't have offline multiplayer. Absolutely no excuse for that.
The other character was technically in Eyes of Heaven, but as a stage hazard, so they are making up the moveset from scratch, and probably polishing up his model to work in a playable capacity.
So they are making new characters. I suppose that's good news.
I wonder if they're going to put in Part 4 & 6 Jotaro this time around?
Oh, I hope not. That would be a waste of roster slots. I'd love for them to be costumes for Part 3 Jotaro, though.
I predict the new rosters slots will be Speedwagon, Trish, Abbacchio, Prosciutto, Pesci, F.F., Diego, Yasuho, Rai, and Tooru.

"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses..." - Flower Knight DakiniI'm pretty sure Part 4 and Part 6 Jotaro will just be unlockable costumes, it just seems better that way.
Sounds like a good lineup, though isn't Pesci still a stage hazard for the ASB train station stage?

Multiple characters in ASB are both playable and stage hazards.
Also, I rewatched the trailer and realized we weren't safe from Part 4 Jotaro, since both Kira and Kosaku are still separate characters.
I don't know if he will get a spot, but I do think he'd make a more interesting fighter than Prosciutto. Maybe he'd be a part of his specials or supers. Ghiaccio or even Risotto would make me more excited though.
"It's just like... a series of overlapping curses..." - Flower Knight DakiniSo, I have today finally purchased a Dead or Alive game. Specifically I got DOA 5 on my PS 3.
I will play it a bit tonight.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I'm not aware if the older DOA games are available to purchase anywhere else, but 5 is a pretty good start.
I agree especially since he doesn't even have that many special moves but given Jotaro's popularity, I can easily believe that he'll have his Part 4 & 6 as alts.
Oh, right, Diego wasn't in All-Stars 1. I guess there's going to be 4 Dio's again.
Well, if they aren’t, I could just get used copies on eBay.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I have a gut feeling Alt Universe Diego will probably be saved for DLC, just to make space for newer characters like Prosciutto.

So the game is gonna be 60 FPS right? The fact it was 30 made me never want to play the original lol.
Hmmm, I'm sure what they're improving is what people criticized All-Stars 1. But it's been a while since I've asked those questions.
If you can find it, then I do recommend getting the DOA Ultimate collection or at least DOA 3. It's been a lifetime since I've touched them but I remember those games being what I always wanted in 3D fighter.
As far I'm concerned, DOA is still a pretty underrated fighting game.
IDK why I forgot the idea of DLC's. There shouldn't be any real reason for them not to do that. Especially since I don't have any real reason not to believe the game won't do well.
Discotek Media announced in a livestream about their upcoming releades that they're licensing the Darkstalkers OVA for Blu-Ray! (this is the good one, not the American cartoon)
Really hoping all this stuff surrounding Darkstalkers recently culminates in a new game finally. I'm gonna be pushing for the Capcom Fighting Collection among my friends as much as I can to help the odds.
It baffles me how underrated these OVAs are in the general public.
I suppose it's pretty loose of its lore considering Pyron just casually kills a few characters, Raptor is a lot nicer than usual, & Felecia's religion is ignored.
I got Discotek's earlier DVD release of the OVA, not sure if I'm going to double dip since the extra's sound the same as that one.
OTOH: that glorious prime Madhouse animation in HD
Apparently Raptor's even more heroic the the Vampire Savior manga...which still hasn't been fully scanned or translated
That practically sounds like a new game.
Wait, why?
