Unresponsive controls, cheap deaths, some of the worst fake difficulty I've ever seen

I'm sorry, how does this equate to Bayonetta?

As opposed to Whiny unlikeable douche = badass. Further away Hack and Slashes move from Dante the better. Unresponsive controls, cheap deaths, some of the worst fake difficulty I've ever seen - I honestly cannot fathom where the people who say Devil May Cry or Bayonetta is better than God of War are coming from.

I think you need to actually play those games before commenting on them. Otherwise, you may look like an idiot.

Is this going to turn into another Devil May Cry/Bayonetta vs God Of War thing? Am I the only one that enjoys all three of them despite their silliness?

I do have a question though. The only God of War game I played was Chains of Olympus, which I enjoyed. Is Ghost of Sparta just as good or should I just not bother with it?  *

I enjoy all 4 (including the 3D Ninja Gaiden games).

Also, while I haven't played it, Ghost of Sparta is said to be better than Chains of Olympus.

Edit: You might wanna play the GOW 1 before the others. It's not nearly as polished or fun to play as the others so it's best to get it out of the way first.

Number of times I have been killed by the ice Cerebus in DMC 3 because I pressed jump to avoid an attack that would take away 75% of my health and there was no action whatsoever - 10.

Probability you pulled that number out of your ass: 98.53 percent.

The fact that you actually died at least ten times against that boss says a lot.

If that's the case, I'll probably just skip it and watch a Let's Play or walkthrough of 1...

No, the first is still a great game, but the others improve pretty heavily. Unless you're strapped for time, its still a worthwhile experience.

Don't pull that bullcrap on me. I enjoyed Demon Souls a lot, but I enjoyed that cause there was something to learn from each death, something I know how to avoid. In DMC, I know whats gonna kill me - the fucking controls that won't let me avoid the fucking attack that takes away 75% of my fucking health.

Its broken so it sucks.

Yes, that's why Devil May Cry 3 was praised for its deep combat system and slick controls.

Because they were broken. Makes perfect sense.

Because as we all know, reviews are gospel. Which is why the God of War series always gets better scores than the DMC series for beetter controls, boss fights, story, and pretty much everything.

Mostly for cash, but yeah, time is a factor too. I mostly play on my handhelds which is why I'm more interested in Ghosts of Sparta. However, I just read that Ghosts takes place right after GOW 1 (which makes me think that it's the old cell phone game that I once had now ported to PSP), so I'll probably play 1 before Ghosts anyway.

[up][up]I'm sure they intentionally avoided talking about how utterly broken the controls were because they were on Capcom's payroll. It's the only explanation.

God Of War has broken combat. I died fifty times when I pressed one button in the middle of an attack and nothing happened. It can't be my mistake, it must be the game's!

Which is why the God of War series always gets better scores than the DMC series for beetter controls, boss fights, story, and pretty much everything.
I love how well you support your evidence.

^^Ha, I actually played that one too. No, its better than that one.

^ Because giving you options and you purposefully not taking them is the same as giving you options and then not letting you use them. Oh wait, no it fucking isn't.

I don't care how fucking deep the system is, if such basic fucking functions don't work the game's system is broken.

I have no idea what you're talking about here. Try to be a bit more specific.

And yet oddly enough, you seem to be the only person who is reporting such "brokeness."

Yeah, we're both acting like fucking morons, and we're both desperately trying to get the last word. What else is new?

Indigo Dingo: I'm sorry if you didn't adapt to the controls very well for Devil May Cry. I know the game is really difficult, and it's extremely difficult to progress without going deeper into the battle system, so it's not like you don't have cause to complain if you didn't like the controls in the first place. I disagree on the "unresponsive controls" bit, but whatever, it's not worth starting a shitstorm like this and I don't need to act all assholish about it.

Call it a day?

Oh, I didn't mean that GOW 1 was bad btw. It's good, but never beyond that.

GOW 2 addresses some balance issues(like being able to infinite stunlock a cyclops and its variants), makes the controls more responsive, and streamlines the climbing sections.

I'm assuming you're going to take the reboot as canon as well?
