I don't know which path it is, but I didn't massacre the villagers. And let me tell you, the next time I run into Vyce or Leonar, I'm gonna beat the crap out of them. >:( In case you can't tell, this is my first time playing this game.
Same here. I've been trying to spare as many enemies as I can, but Vyce and Leonar had better watch their backs. >:|
But somehow,◊You guys took Chaos.
So what are Denam and co. doing at the start of Chapter 2 in the Chaos path?
In Law they get sent to distract a large portion of the Galgastani forces on the south/west coast.

Umbran Climax◊Denam has been blamed for the massacre and has the sister of one of his 'victims' coming after him. It was pretty hilarious killing all her allies and having Denam spare her. "Oh, well you've got a special portrait, so it would be wrong of me to kill you. Who cares about all those other guys?"
I guess I'm with the Chaos route people. :/a
I was /not/ expecting that kind of choice to appear. I love it.
Ne Obliviscaris Pesterchum Handle: christenedTemplarI am loving the new optional conversations between unique party members.
Umbran Climax◊- Get annoyed and kill an enemy leader.
- Enemy dies, lamenting that he would not be able to save his daughter's life.
- Feel bad.
- Developer trollface.
I ran into a really cool one of those that turns a story mission into an optional mission.
You are fighting a group that consists almost entirely of Clerics. There are two major enemy leaders here: High Commander Gatialo a lvl 16 Terror Knight(your party's average lvl is 8 or 9), and a lvl 9 female Cleric.
The game already tries to make you feel bad when the two leaders have a conversation in which the Cleric decides Gatialo is too important to die and that she and her troop of healers will buy him time to escape, even though he doesn't want to leave them behind because they're clearly about to be massacred.
The mission objective is to kill the Cleric while Gatialo escapes(which he will do by running all the way to the south western side of the map). If you kill her before he escapes, he will decide to turn around and kick your ass(and he really can with his absurd attack power and a spell that drains HP). And if you beat him, a mission in which you normally fight him later will change and you get a title.
Umbran Climax◊It's a game that really gets at the Hobbes' philosophy.
Life, and by extension war, is nasty, brutish, and short.
Can anyone give me some good tips for skill selection/class changing? I'm kind of flying blind here. I want to switch my MC into something besides a warrior, but what's good to grab from that class before changing first?
Ne Obliviscaris Pesterchum Handle: christenedTemplarMost Class exclusive skills do not carry over to other classes when you switch.
Basic skills like the Augments(Augment Fire, Augment Light, etc.), passive buffs(Strengthen, Fortify, etc.) will always cross over, unit type advantages(Anatomy, Golemy, etc.) always carry over.
Also you shouldn't need to switch Denam's class until you get Ninja.
Umbran Climax◊Ninja eh, not Terror Knight? I have one of those.
Kind of depressing nothing transfers over. Maybe I'll grind for some cash and recruit some new faces to change over.
Ne Obliviscaris Pesterchum Handle: christenedTemplarSome major skills do.
Both Knights and Terror Knights learn Rampart Aura, so if you switch from one to the other that skill will carry over. But a Knight's Divine Magic will not cross over to a Terror Knight, who can only use Dark Magic.
Basically any shared skill is a freebie. They probably did it to stop people from creating game breaking class combos.
I made my old Berserker into a Terror Knight(initially replaced by a Reptile Berserker, permanently replaced by Xapan).
Postponing story progress in Ch2 to recruit a Faerie and a Dragon now.
I'm not even sure what I'll do with the Faerie, but the Dragon is gonna be my main man from now on.

Umbran Climax◊I was wrong about some things.
Some skills can be used by classes that normally wouldn't get them.
When looking at skills you can get a visual representation of all the classes and how that skill gels with them:
Blue Circle = Can learn.
Red Cross + Number = Can learn at lvl equal to the number.
Red Cross = Can use, but not learn.
Red Cross and Dimmed Portrait = Cannot learn or use.
So there you go.
Got me a dragon BTW. Once his class catches up with my party we are gonna have so much fun.
Umbran Climax◊The bonus forest dungeon = OUCH
Not going back there without a good Beastmaster + recruiting skills.
Back to the main plot.
If you take the eastern route instead of the western route you fight mostly humans. It's much easier.
But it also gives you the chance to recruit Ninjas, Dragoons, and Sword Masters earlier than you normally would. I just recruited a Dragoon in fact. Him and my Dragon are gonna be pals.
Umbran Climax◊Bleh, I need to do some grinding, and find a katana for Denam. :/ I'm right after the split in chaos chapter 2, going off to save Citera from the pirates. I can either continue the main plot or go hunting in the forest.
Ne Obliviscaris Pesterchum Handle: christenedTemplarThe forest is a good place to battle.
If you take the human path you can get Blade Masters to drop the Nodachi.
Umbran Climax◊Sounds like a plan to me! Can I redo the battles multiple times?
Ne Obliviscaris Pesterchum Handle: christenedTemplarYeah. You just have to enter the menu that normally has Party and Warren Report. It should also have a Retreat function.
Use that to leave the forest and re-enter and all battles will be reset.
Umbran Climax◊Alright. Thanks for all the advice. :D
Ne Obliviscaris Pesterchum Handle: christenedTemplarOhai Pallet-Swapped Agrias Dame Ravness.
edited 24th Feb '11 1:39:57 PM by Miijhal
How is it a pallet swap if they wear the same colors?
Also I'd say Ravness is a much more well developed character.
Umbran Climax◊Agrias has brighter colors. Especially her hair.
That would be Chaos, which is what I took.
i. hear. a. sound.
