You said it was mostly because of that though.
Burn up, hurricane of justice! The +1 isn't the issue ultimately. Lots of cards plus.
It's why it's able to go off(which is easy to fill the graveyard, which is the case in the meta) and sometimes a new replacement that is better made came along.
I mostly do think the replacement is a big reason. But I also do think that the new meta makes it too powerful. The +1 is the least worrying aspect, to be honest. The ridiculous amount of recycle power combined with being active extremely easily does not bode well for this kind of meta.
I should've worded it better. I do consider it my opinion. But as Konami has shown, being a +1 alone won't make it banworthy by default. Pot of Greed is one of the few times where that's a key reason, the other way that it was thrown into every deck, basically a staple. They did mention when cards get overused, it becomes a problem. And what deck can't use Pot of Greed? Exactly.
I just had this
hilarious win on devpro
where someone Mark of the Rose'd me, direct attacked with my Star Eater, and just when I was thinking "FUCKIN' MONSTER STEALING CARDS ASDF Fdhfjksdfjasfjbasdas;d'" Star Eater goes back to my field because it's unaffected by Rose when it attacks and then causes the opponent to take 3200 Battle Damage
is that really supposed to happen like omg lmao I never even thought of it working that way
MMORPGs are serious business.I...I don't think that's how it's supposed to happen...I mean, you getting it back when they attack makes sense, but I think the attack would just stop then.
Speaking of getting annoyed by cheap crap only for it to turn out well...Lightsworn player after his first turn, having gone through all 3 Solar Recharges.◊ Same Lightsworn player a few turns later.◊
Burn up, hurricane of justice!I'm not sure if it should work that way, but the program itself still would recognize an attack declaration regardless. It's just a glitch that was bound to happen.
The attack was never actually stopped in the coding. It just switched players.
The rulings just say it's not effected by any card effects while attacking. I have honestly no idea how that works, I'm guessing because it changed sides, the attack stops, but that's one's purely a Judge's call at this point.
-checks Mirror Gate to see if it has any helpful information, doesn't see any-
So...apparently the wording on that got changed at some point so you can basically send a weak HERO to the graveyard to deal damage to your opponent and steal a strong monster from them...And it doesn't target.
-checks Enemy Controller, still doesn't see any- But yeah, probably safe to just call it a glitch...Also...
"Give a command to one of your opponent's Monsters on the Field with the Enemy Controller.
●1000 Life + Up, Left, Down, Right, A = Explode
●1000 Life + Left, Right, A, B = Sacrifice"

Burn up, hurricane of justice! Then I very much like Victory Dragon. Seeing as if successfully executed, his attack and effect resulting is a thorough "screw you" to established out of game rules and necessities...
It affects two monsters. That makes it a non-targeting effect.
Keep in mind some monsters can't be selected by an effect, even if others are. That's a different form of targeting. Creature Swap does not target as an effect, but you cannot choose Horus Lvl 6 as one of the targets. Confusing, but that's how it is.
That's not confusing at all, actually. Well, apparently it is, since you can choose Horus as one of the 'targets' of a card like Creature Swap, it's just that the fact that he's unaffected by spell effects will stop the card resolving properly.

Burn up, hurricane of justice! It's confusing because you can't legitimately target Horus Lvl 6 for a spell card's effect, but the effect itself is non-targeting. They don't contradict each other, it's just a matter of word clashes.
You can target Horus with a spell card though, or select it with a non-targeting card like Creature Swap or Smashing Ground. The wiki has a decent way of phrasing it. "It’s like there’s a force field surrounding the monster, protecting it from the Spell Card’s effect. However, the Spell Card still "sees" the monster and may attempt to apply its effect on the monster."
Burn up, hurricane of justice! The effect doesn't resolve, mind you.
Mind you, some cards cannot be targeted.
A better example would be VS Spirit Reaper. You have to "target both" cards, but it's a non-targeting effect, so he doesn't get killed.
Gaia Drake cannot be targeted by monster card effects, notably. Or destroyed by them.(seriously, he's pretty easy to get out with Summoner of Illusions. And he stays out, barring other circumstances).
This Chain Burn player didn't like looking at my new house.◊ ):
He blew through 5 backrow to do that damage...technically 6, since he activated Ojama Trio on the previous turn. The Marys were pretty dead, unfortunately. Since the last thing to happen whenever he did anything would be one of my cards, meaning she'd miss her chance to activate.
Burn up, hurricane of justice!Bringing back that Chain Beat.◊ No Heavy? NO PROBLEM!
"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior ValI saw a guy a few days ago with an "I heart NY" shirt that said "I heart CHOP". Presumably it was inspired by a restaurant, but still, Chop Man!
The sad, REAL American dichotomyIf only I could find a way to get rid of Lightsworn and Chaos Dragon.
I never want to see such a repulsive, disgusting deck again. I could even go as far as saying that Konami made its greatest error in its entire existence in giving Quimsworn more cards.

Dude, Quimsworn sounds like something a five-year-old would say when he's run out of insults.
Curse the ill fortune that led you to me.Because Lightsworns were so much worse than Dragon Rulers.
Dragon Rulers and Lightsworns are different kinds of ripping your hair out annoying.
Rulers are constantly going "Oh cool, I do whatever because your shit doesn't really stop me".
Lightsworns are just sacky and you'll go from 8000 to 1100, with you in the lead to suddenly facing down triple JD, BLS, and Sephy without a field.
"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior ValI got the quim thing from Loki.
Exactly my problem with them. It seems when professionals use the deck, they mill absolutely everything they need into the graveyard. They get the perfect hand.
Hence why I think we need to, ah, trim the herd. Ryko, Lyla, Lumina, Jain, Wulf, and Judgement Dragon, all limited and or banned. Most definitely banned in the case of Ryko, Lyla, Lumina and Judgement.
I really hated that line.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyBleh, let's stop the hateful nicknames. Not funny or cool.
I don't mind Lightsworns. They more or less suck because they beyond too often can't pull off anything.
Dragon Rulers don't bother me either. They lost the real derp, being the Babies and Super R. Now they take actual skill to play. You can't just do anything without thought. I like what they are now. I still think the Bigs need a Semi and Return From The Different Dimension definitely needs a ban to take away any leftover derp, though.
I'm too busy eating to do that.

JD is the only banworthy one. Every other problem card is not a Lightsworn.
I said it was more than that. The fact it was hyper usable in this current meta was also why it was banned. Likewise with decently usable Duplicity. And since many Extra Decks aren't mono-type, it's surprisingly easy to use.
It's just not ridiculous nor does it benefit every deck, just some. It also recycles too much for no cost and has no restrictions beyond "Must put back 5 as the activation cost and the 5 must return together(as in you have to put all 5 into either the Extra and/or Main deck(s)) for it to work". It was slightly harder to pull off, but that requires your opponent to already have a D.D. Crow in their hand, the only notable counter to first turn shenanigans.
