I'm in, as you'd probably guessed.
You're an ad hominem attack!So...are we going to start doing this then?
I submit that someone write a story based around these two and their inevitable future marriage. Or, well, whatever you want to do with them.
You're an ad hominem attack! So it'd be like:
1) Receive complementary quotes.
2) Write a short story based on them, linking them together.
3) Then link that short story to another.
Right? Seems interesting enough c:

No, I absolutely never forget my password. And I never have a suspiciously specific denial.I'm in!
Of the various quotes, my favourite is probably http://www.overheardinnewyork.com/archives/011041.html, so I'd prefer to handle that one, although I'm willing to concede if anyone else wants to do it.
Also, that idea of every character being on the train with the hobo at the end (from the original IJAM thread) is beautiful.
EDIT: We need more quotes, don't we? What kind of quotes are we looking for? I have a bunch bookmarked, but I'm not sure if they're the right kind.

Because I choose to.I love that quote, but you're welcome to it, from my point of view anyway.
Hmm...unlike I large portion of our forumites, I haven't written anything creative in years, so you'll have to give me a bit of leeway if the stuff I end up producing isn't very good.
As for what quotes we want...I think it's better if we use quotes of relatively sympathetic people; we need to make sure that this isn't, y'know, overly dark or anything. Other than that, I suppose we just need to focus on the people who seem the most interesting...which is a pretty useless piece of advice really.
Also, are we going to make the hobo or the man he talks to the main character? Because if we're going to end it on them, it seems like we should.
You're an ad hominem attack! The man he talks to would be a good protagonist IMO - but I think the hobo should be a recurring character appearing throughout the seperate stories.
And I don't have any dark quotes, it's just that they tend more towards humorous than heartwarming.
http://www.overheardinnewyork.com/archives/023283.html Here's another one I wouldn't mind doing. I find the child's interaction with the clerk rather cute.
http://www.overheardinnewyork.com/archives/023359.html This one's a little more cynical in a way, but amusing nonetheless.
If we could find a pair of stoner characters to follow, that would be awesome too.

Because I choose to.Okay, so, what kind of person is the man the hobo talks to?
You're an ad hominem attack!...What happened to this project? Have we given up on it already?
You're an ad hominem attack! We need more people to join.
Because I choose to.Any suggestions as to how to accomplish that?
You're an ad hominem attack!Make a thread over in Writer's Block, where all the writers are. That should attract some new members.
Because I choose to.Done.
You're an ad hominem attack!
Overheard in New York is a veritable gold mind of quotes with interesting stories behind them(or immediately preceding them).
Our objective is to tell these stories! The basic project will come in three stages.
So, who wants in?
