hashtagsarestupidWhoo... Time flies. Any way I'm going over the rules now who still here?
hashtagsarestupidConsider me interested.
Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.^Cool.
I admit I like the simpleness of the Drama Diaries" system but I don't think the author knows about bell curves. The basic idea is that your character's stats are represented as different-sized dice, from 1d2 (coin flip) to 1d10. Checks are made by rolling your stat die and adding a relevant skill's ranks to the result; every check has a difficulty number ranging from 4 to 20+. For example, if your character's Body stat is D8 and your Athletics skill is 5, you roll 1d8+5 for Athletics checks.
hashtagsarestupidThat does sounds pretty simple, if a bit lop-sided.
Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.Hmm... It gets worst when your dealing with high level (d12 and above npcs) but it's design for accessibility over number crunching so I'll giving it that.
Arguably it's more realistic then D20's ability modify plus skill bonus as you get more reliable baseline results from your applied individual chosen skills rather relying on broad innate general abilities (after all even the strongest man in the world will get his ass kicked if he doesn't actually know how to fight). But that's neither here or there.

hashtagsarestupidI'm interested to see the system at work.
Edit: I'm downloading the core rules as I type this.

Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.Oh cool. Nice resident evil reference.
Might need to dust off google docs for the character sheets but I mess around with sand box and see what I can do for templates.
What age did everyone imagine they characters to be anyway? Everyone in the book seems around the 14-16 range which is cool from a role playing stand point but we could bump it to college age if any one has problems.

hashtagsarestupidI have no problem with playing a teenaged character. I like the Wake Up, Go to School & Save the World trope.
Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.Ok I got the character template sorted outed. Just copy paste it into an open text box and it will auto format into the correct line out.

hashtagsarestupidI'm guessing "Handler" is the name of the player.
Also, how do you calculate Zap points? I don't have the book/PDF on me right now (and can't aqccess it until after work).
Updated my character sheet.

Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.Yes handler is player, althrought that's only my personal preferred name for it. In the core book all the meta game terms are referred to hollywood termiongly: player becomes actor, character becomes star, the GM becomes the 'Director', a game is episode, a campaign is a season ect.
As for calculating Zap Ponits.... I dunno lol xD, I will look it up.

hashtagsarestupidFound it! It's the maximum you can roll with Magic times 2.
Becky's would be 16.
Part of me is wondering if we should make a new thread for this...

Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.Yes that's right, same goes Life Points. Your maximum roll on your body stat x2. Resist Magic and Reflex is your maximum roll +3 of your 'Magic and Body stat respectively.
You think we need a new thread then?

hashtagsarestupidIt couldn't hurt. This one's getting a little cluttered. And the OP isn't very detailed (I don't even know if the OP is around, they haven't posted).
It might drum up some more interest if we had some kind of plot outline and character sheet in one post. Maybe have instructions on how to roll a character, too. I had a heck of a time finding the manual, and even there the intormation is a little scattered. I finally found the Zap points explaination with the section that had the sample character.

Nestled in the woods of Virginia is the town of Brook’s Pass. Back in the days when America was first being colonized, Brook’s Pass was a fort town and a hub of commerce and social interaction. From its humble origins, the town prospered and grew into the fine town that we all know and love today. The Madeline Brooks Institution for the Refinement and Education of Young Women (Now known simply as Brooks’ School for Girls) was founded here and has become one of the premier educational facilities for young women in the entire country.
[Excerpt from forum post on Witchspiracy.com, dated April 9, 2011, written by “TheyreAmongUs379”]
Brook’s Pass: Humble Virginian town, or Dark Coven Village?
Brook’s Pass, located in rural Virginia may seen like an unassuming destination for one to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Big City’s rat race, but beneath it’s pleasant and homey exterior lies a dark, seamy underbelly. Witches. That’s right, sheeple! Brook’s Pass is home to a number of broomstick-flying, pointy-hat-wearing, spell-casting, honest-to-God witches! This reporter has seen them in action with his own two eyes. After doing some research, this reporter was not surprised to learn that Brook’s Pass was founded by witches and was once a veritable center of witchcraft and wizardry. Not much has changed in the nearly 300 hundred years since its founding, and this reporter can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that the main center for this activity is the so-called Brook’s School For Girls. That’s right, they’re training them! The witches are indoctrinating young girls, and possibly boys, into their dark religion and it’s happening right under our very noses!
[From the Brooks School for Girls website, brooksschoolforgirls.edu]
- School Name: Brooks’ School for Girls
- Founded: 1818 by Madeline Brooks as The Madeline Brooks Institution for the Refinement and Education of Young Women
- Location: Brook’s Pass, Virginia, United States
- School Type: Women’s Boarding School
- Number of Students Currently Attending: ~170
- School Colors: Violet, Grey, and Black
- School Mascot: Black Cat
- School Motto: Potentia venit in omnes uariae magnitudinis praebebant. ("Power comes in all shapes and sizes.""Be Nice or Be A Toad" sounds stupid in Latin)

Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway.Nice info! I'm still interested in joining up. Is there anything else we need to know?
"Who am I, Elisha Otis?"
Hello everyone. I ran across this game here on Tv Tropes at this page: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WitchGirlsAdventures and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in running a game in that setting? I'd be interested in playing, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there and see if anyone was interested in playing or running such a game. Thanks. :)
