Oh good.
If it's running super-silky smooth 100 percent quality of life GOTY critical darling it doesn't feel like it's a Suda 51 title. I was tickled to see the framerate drop in that first clip with Travis's new bike.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).From what I can tell it's still looks like NMH & that's enough for me for now.
Some reviewers (Nintendolife and another I forget) mentioned it runs smoothly at/near 60fps in action stages, but dips in the overworld. The overall average rating when I checked seems to be a 7.5 - 8 out of 10. Nintendolife, who gave the other games 9s, gave it an 8, but a couple of reviews mentioned Suda's style might start wearing a bit thin.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyYea, that sounds about right when it comes to NMH at least.
Bye-bye, all of No More Heroes...?
Suda51 tweeted yesterday that, for all intents and purposes, No More Heroes 3 is the last we'll see of Travis and No More Heroes in general.
Heck, the game was originally called No More Heroes 3 FINAL BOUT - All-Out Galactic War!, but they took some pages from the Rocky movies and just stuck with No More Heroes 3.
So. Yeah. Hope everyone savors this one.

Wait, some of those reviews I read suggested that the game leaves room for sequel hooks?
But I was kind of expecting the series might end, what with the "Thanos-like dude" details.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyKnowing Suda any sequel hook is intended to be a joke and a parody of the concept.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, NMH is pretty much the only portion of Grasshopper Manufacture games that's gotten sequels.
And the only reason NMH got sequels in the first place was because the western side of the globe just really liked Travis. (Which is a far cry to how the game turned out in Japan.)
Fun fact: Suda originally wanted Travis to get gunned down by Silvia at the end of the first game, but they nixed that plan based on the game's positive buzz in international shores. Thanks for sharing that, Matt McMuscles!
So, considering the final boss fight:
Was it just a goofy shout out to Smash, Suda really wanted Travis in Smash and this was a response to him not being added, or a Take That! at Smash or an actual hint to character 11 or all of the above or none of the above or all of the none of the above below??

Aw damn.
Now I'm really hoping this game gives me closure.

From what I've seen of the #10, #6, and #5 boss fights... this is the most Suda 51-ish No More Heroes game of the franchise.
There's some serious what the actual fuck references going on. I don't even know who the 5th boss is and had to google where the hell they came from.
Travis's otaku references and off the wall Leaning on the Fourth Wall is almost obnoxious.
I haven't watched much Kamen Rider so the jokes are lost on me.
I don't know what Sylvia is even doing in the game anymore, why Bad Girl and Travis seem to be allies, or how Henry and Jeane factor into this.
Don't even get me started on Jeane.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Travis Strikes Again can help fill in some of thosr gaps for you, but yeah the game is still wacky through and through.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).A heads up for those interested, Best Buy is selling 1 and 2 Physical copies for Switch. Speaking of, we REALLY need a topic dedicated to the limited print companies, it's kinda hard to keep track of who is printing what and when.
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness. Is that Limited Run Games or another print? Looked it up, it is via them.
I was pretty annoyed honestly when I found out only Japan was getting the triple pack. I would have shelled out for the limited edition, even though I haven't played 1 & 2, because I think the franchise looks fun and I prefer physical copies.
But breaking it up with 1 & 2 needing to go though LRG discouraged me because of expensive shipping and everything.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI'm wondering am I going to need to hurry up and buy a Switch? I was waiting for if they did a hardware revision, but they only did the OLED.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThis is probably gonna be you're last chance if you don't want to deal with scalpers. How long a game goes before being sold out on Best Buy varies, so I can't give you a concrete date unfortunately. Hence my desire for a place where we can look them all up and at least have all the info.
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness.Fortunately, I'm now at a place in life where I can buy something as a collector's item, even before playing it.
I've been able to do that for games before, now that I think about it. Usually games on Steam sale (before I had a PC strong enough to run it), or holding on to games for PS 2/3 while my hardware was down. But this could be my first time doing so for a full price hard copy console game.
Then again, I still have hard copies of the original games.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Man, this game really came & went.
I'm still hoping for DLC in some ways. Especially for Shinobu & Bad Girl
I would talk about it more, but I don't have a Switch yet to do so.
But yeah, the game did indeed come and go. Is it just my imagination, or does that tend to happen to 3rd party games on Nintendo consoles.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI haven't really been paying attention & the only 3rd party game I can think of is Monster Hunter Story or whatever it's called.
A while ago I made a Smash Bros style moveset for Travis, which I finalized after while of retooling. I like it how it is now, but I'm still curious enough to ask, does anyone have any suggestions for what a different down special might be instead of Sword Change/Charge?
I found someone's attempt at translating the lyrics to Nathan Copeland's theme! Turn on captions to see the translation.

The sad, REAL American dichotomy3 getting ported to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC this fall.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."
Oh I'm hearing it's still very much a Suda 51 game for Suda 51 fans, having some jank but with a wild ride to make up for it.
