That's still a counter move
I'm not entirely sure if he did say that or not.
Wanna paste it into a quoteblock, maybe? I'm not touching Angry Smash Twitter with a hundred foot pole.

Trans rights are human rights.- Former Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata 2010
My memory fails me but I feel like Nintendo were still doing this sort of thing when Iwata was in charge...

Trans rights are human rights. They were. More so than now, in fact. They also havent sued the parties involved or C&Ded Slippi or anything like that. They drew a line in the sand, legally speaking, regarding how the game could not be played at the event.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireNintendo used to take down and copyright striked Youtube videos from 2010 to 2016, around this time period. Which might be Iwata's era? Not sure.

Iwata died in 2015.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireIs there even a citation on that guy's post lmao. It'd be like me doing...
EDIT: Oh so it's from a 2010 quote... which is taken out of context.
They like to forget the last two sentences lol

Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.People on Twitter taking quotes out of context to support their arguments?

Trans rights are human rights.Stop talking about Pikachu's erection.
He's likely either talking about DS piracy, which was more rampant back then, or some kind of parody, fan hack, or artwork.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyHis response is very lawyery if you ask me
New theme music also a boxAll this legal action/discussion from Nintendo is just a very elaborate and complex trailer for Phoenix Wright being added to Smash.
-Witty line-its a S O C I A L experiment
New theme music also a boxI don't think even Phoenix Wright wants to take on Nintendo's legal team.
I missed the part where that's my problem.I've already said my piece about this & I just can't get behind Nintendo this time around.
There was a very recent UMVC 3 tourney that could've had the same problem but didn't. It just seems unfair but really I'm judging on the surface level.
Now that's a matchup for Death Battle: Nintendo's Legal Team vs Disney's Legal Team.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Disney's legal department would wipe the floor, they are ruthless
New theme music also a boxWhat said. Nintendo's legal team uses the full extent of the law, but Disney has the law changed to suit them.
SoundCloudThere's a reason that Disney is portrayed as evil in satire.
Plus their entire double standard: Nobody can use what their deem theirs, but they'll go ahead to screw creators out of their creations to have full ownership.
I'm pretty sure even The Mafia has more scruples then Disney's lawyers.
Honestly woudne't be surprised if they find a way to buy Nintendo (or Square Enix) even despite certain laws preventing that.

The Yakuza wouldn't let them.

So I was thinking about which historic Smash stages are no longer around, and which ones could hypothetically be brought back. The missing stages:
Smash 64:
- not listed - Metal Bros
- 0:57 - Planet Zebes (near-identical to Melee's Brinstar)
- 1:17 - Sector Z (near-identical to Melee's Corneria)
Melee:
- 1:43 - Icicle Mountain (vertical scroller)
- 2:02 - Mushroom Kingdom (no known reason why)
- 2:20 - Poke Floats (no stable platforms)
- 2:50 - Mute City (similar to Brawl's Port Town?)
Brawl:
- 3:26 - Rumble Falls (vertical scroller)
- 3:42 - Pictochat (no strong reason, maybe platform layout?)
4 3DS:
- 4:02 - Rainbow Road (no known reason why)
- 4:16 - Pac-Maze (no known reason why)
4 Wii U:
- 4:44 - Jungle Hijinks (no known reason why, maybe depth issues?)
- 5:01 - Pyrosphere (Ridley)
- 5:19 - Wooly World (no known reason why)
- 5:13 - Orbital Gate Assault (beautiful but too chaotic)
- 5:54 - Miiverse (potentially obscene, unless a "best of" is collected)
The stages I think could return almost as-is:
- Mushroom Kingdom
- Mute City
- Pictochat (remove layouts of issue)
- Rainbow Road
- Pac-Maze
- Jungle Hijinks
- Wooly World
- Miiverse (remove layouts of issue)
Some stages could hypothetically return if they were given the Delfino Plaza treatment, a hub platform that moves the stage into certain layouts at certain times. However, that might fundamentally change the feel of those stages. Those are:
- Icicle Mountain
- Rumble Falls
- Orbital Gate Assault

The sad, REAL American dichotomy
Brawler's counter is a throw which itself is finnicky to setup.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.
