Super Smash Bros.

Honestly, we all have characters from incredibly niche games that we want in Smash.

(Is hoping we actually get characters like Neptune or Asuka from Senran Kagura in Smash)

I know, I've just seen Caleb bring up GOD HAND a lot, and knowing very little about it I wasn't sure if it was for the memes or out of a genuine love for the game.

(I'm also speaking as someone who wants Tempo but knows he has very little chance of getting in)

I still have hope for Klaymen even though he’s impossible.

So let’s come up with ideas for Assist Trophies.... again.

I already suggested that King Bob-Omb where he could just slowly walk around the stage. Possibly throwing nearby players, jumping back onto the stage instead of teleporting like most assist trophies who fall off the stage. So now, I have a few more.

• Mario - This would just be a sprite of Mario from the original Super Mario Bros. He would start out in his Fire form just running around, jumping, and throwing Fireballs. After taking enough damage. He would become Small Mario whose means of attack is just stomping on enemies. Once you deal enough damage. He would simply do the death animation. Indicating you’ve gotten rid of him. Maybe have an Easter egg where in the Mario Maker stage, his appearance changes depending on what the current game style is.

• Spynum - The enemy that gives Kirby the Archer ability would just spend time in one spot aiming his shots at anyone foolish enough to get in his line of sight. He would do this 10 times or for 15 seconds with his last shot being a charged arrow shot.

I'm just surprised you didn't mention Popeye again.

But I guess we all have our wants and ideal preferences.

I'm finally going to get around to playing the Shantae series games that I have in full... eventually. I just turned on Steam for the first time in like years, hoping to play before the end of the month.

Was poking around on Twitter and discovered a mod for Ultimate that gives Ness a Ninten skin. It looks really nice!

Speaking of modding, I've been watching a lot of Smash Bros. Mod Videos lately, and I've started wanting to make mods myself now because of them. Problem is, I don't really want to download stuff like the Dolphin Emulator or a legally questionable version of Brawl to do the modding with (though I have a legally purchased copy of it), so I'm most likely never actually gonna do anything.

Hasn't stopped me working on ideas, though. If I ever get the courage, and a new computer, I might attempt an overhaul mod like Project M and Brawl +, but as of right now, I'm just imagining and writing.

That Ninten mod looks absolutely great. Man, the Mother franchise kinda got shafted in terms of reps other than spirits. Especially Beginnings. Man, if Ninten somehow is in game as an Echo Fighter of Ness, I would be a very happy man.

True. Porky's total absence in Ultimate, even as a spirit, is baffling. Especially since everyone else who showed up as a boss in Brawl returned in some way. Especially Galleom, who actually stayed a boss.

Random wish that probably won't happen: Porky and Ninten will be revealed at the same time, like Simon and Richter.

I'd say they didn't quite get as badly shafted as other franchises. But yeah, though I'd prefer Ana/Paula/Kumatora or Porky to Ninten as newcomers.

Its weird that every Mother song is a remix. None of them are the original rips of their home game songs. And no battle music. I wonder why.

Also, still no Pokey Means Business.

It's probably because of copyright issues. They might be related to the ones that prevent any MOTHER songs from being played in-game during tournaments.

To answer your question, Ookami, looks like a bunch of streamers got Me Too'd.

I know people make jokes at how toxic the Smash community is, but wow I bet nobody expected that.

I think one of smash person got accused by another player of grooming him when he was 14. I forgot her name, gotta look it up.

There's lots and lots of incidents involving numerous competitive players being revealed right now. It's a terrible situation overall.

While Rick and Morty is basically the only time that the show’s own fanbase counts as The Scrappy, Smash is definitely getting there.

It doesn't help that Smash's fanbase at its core have lots of underage players. Really big oof at those known players.

Even then, Rick and Morty seems to have risen above the toxicity to return to a normal fanbase. Smash is mired deep in toxic sludge.

But it’s still not socially acceptable to like R&M, it’s fanbase is mostly closeted to keep them from losing friends.

Any fanbase that gets to big ends up getting a reputation for being horrible because the bigger they are the more bad apples there are and boy are those bad apples more noticeable than the good ones.

People read about things like this, and their response is to whine about "cancel culture"? What is wrong with them?

Cancel culture is shit but now's not the time when people are being accused of literal pedophilia.

Its always odd seeing some people more outraged at those who tell people not to be jackasses/monsters instead of the people who are being jackasses/monsters.

So having people more focus on complaining about 'cancel culture' rather than this very serious situation is completely baffling.
