Delicate reminder that this is being produced by Avi Arad and written by the guys who wrote Punisher: War Zone and Transformers: The Last Knight.
Tom Holland is one of the GOAT, but based on who's behind the wheel with this movie, I would not expect quality filmmaking.
EDIT: Yeah, Holland looks pretty rad as a young Nate, but any good things from this movie will probably stem from him and him alone.

That outfit's spot-on, but he still looks way too young to be in the role. Nate's 31 in the first game.
What's the opposite of Dawson Casting?
It's Tom Holland. Dude always looks like 12.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I mean, he is younger than the character, by quite a bit.
The film is set before any of the games IIRC, so he's meant to be much younger than game!Nate. Sully is also younger than he is in the games too so it's definitely a deliberate choice.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Just starting to watch a Let's Play of the games, but didn't the second one have a flashback to how Nate and Sully met and Nate was a kid then? So it's surely set after then.
But yes, they have said this was set before the main games, hence why Nate is being played by Tom Holland.
(Side-note: if the movie turns out well (unlikely, considering it's Avi Arad), what if Naughty Dog tries to do a game about young Nate?)

4 had a flashback/training sequence with a young Nate too but there's still a lot of uncharted territory (sorry.)
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Ah, I kept myself from knowing too much about 4, considering how it's a Grand Finale for Nate. (And hey, someone was going to say "uncharted territory" eventually. )
Wait, can ND even do a new game anytime soon? I recall reading how production on The Last of Us Part II was particularly strenuous for the devs. They ended up bailing due to the crunch and ND had to rope in animators from Hollywood or something like that.
Is it weird that I started with Uncharted 4?
It's been 3000 years…That was the first one on the PS 4. You play what's available.
I just got all the games when they were given away on PS Plus, a few months ago.

Actually, it was Uncharted 3, thats the game which delves in Nate's and Sully relationship.
Now, if they're going to follow the games plots, it would be hard to put the timeline, as it would have to be after Sam supposed death in Panama's jail, but I supposed Nate had his advetures eithout him before that.

I’m just upset we’ll never got a proper Uncharted film with Nathan Fillion and Bruce Campbell in the roles they were born to play

These companies don’t have a multimillion dollar streaming service to debut on, but sooner or later, they have to release them. Especially since they’re clearly hoping that vaccinations allow life to get back to normal by the time the next dates hit, and well...not a guarantee.
The movie's getting delayed by another week... (And it's not an April Fools gag.)
Damn this virus...

At least it's only a week For a second I thought it was for like a year. I would have been like "definitely an April fools joke".
We now have a trailer for the movie.
Alright, I can buy Tom Holland as Nathan, but Mark Wahlberg as Sully is a weird choice.
It's been 3000 years…They are both weird choices for me. Tom Holland seems too young to play Nate, while it looks weird for Sully not to have a mustache.
I don't get why they didn't just gray out Whalberg's hair and have him grow the 'stache. Dude's 50, if this movie is supposed to be a younger Nate than we see in the games, he's the right age. Just make him look right.
That said, I dig the trailer. Tom doesn't SOUND like Drake, but he's got the vocal inflections and physicality down perfect, and some of those set pieces look like they could have come straight out of the games. Also dig that they're putting in stuff from Thief's End right from the beginning. Always good to avoid Suddenly Existing Family Member syndrome.

Wake me up at your own risk.NGL, I always saw Nathan Fillion playing Nate in a movie, but this looks good, too.

What I mean is Uncharted is pretty much a modern Indiana Jones, which has been proven to work.
