i'm going to say yes. just thinking of the never-ending discussions on this issue that have been generated by stuff like Rebuild Of Evangelion, i think these tropes are definitely subjective.

proper procedure would be to link this thread in the pages that need banners
thread, or just add both tropes to YMMV and they should get the banner automatically. i think we could do with a couple more people to support this, though.

These subjects are technically subjective when you get right down to it, because one can easily find work A darker than work B while the other believes it is the other way around. If it's objective then by what standards do we evaluate what is and what is not, and if not, maybe it should go in YMMV along with Complete Monster mentions...
