Why do people hate IW? sure it has a slightly different feel to it and enough biomod canisters to fill out your slots a few times over but that doesn't seem enough to make it so hated.

I had the exact opposite playthrough as Charlatan's, I killed every hostile enemy with extreme prejudice but I left civilians alone.

I have a question though, I own and beat the PS 2 port. Is it really that different from the PC version? Because while I did enjoy it, if its watered down enough I'd want to get the PC version.

I had the PS 2 version years ago, (although I owned the PC version long before) and the only difference I remember is that there's more loading transitions between areas, and the cutscenes are prerendered instead of in-engine. It's actually a pretty good port.

It also splits up the areas into smaller bits with loading sections in between.

Some fans wouldn't call the PS 2 version good at all.

Why do people hate IW? sure it has a slightly different feel to it and enough biomod... canisters to fill out your slots a few times over...

Slightly different feel? Ion streamlined the heck out of it to make it more console friendly; which is understandable...for consoles, but one size does not fit all for every platform (specific reference to IW's craptacular HUD).

Harvey Smith himself stated he thought there was too much content to DX 1, it was too long, levels were too voluminous, blah blah. Apparently IW is how he wished a proper DX should be.

...but that doesn't seem enough to make it so hated.

More in reference to the DX, IW would barely be remembered if it were divorced from the series. DX, as dated as it is, is one of the rare games I can go back to and play over and over again; IW I played once for the story and immediately shelved.

No...I take that back, I gave to a friend for a recordable DVD. Frankly that DVD was worth more.

IW just didn't live up to the original game, which is pretty hard to do when you're the sequel to one of the best games of all time. It's OK. Not horrible, not great.

I beat the game on the Helios ending. So badass.

Also, go play The Nameless Mod, fools. Murder an entire city with sporks.

Also also, I WANT YOU TO STAND IN THE SPOTLIGHT AND GROWL LIKE A DOG BEGGING FOR A MASTER.
