No 40K thread yet? I'm surprised. Nay, shocked, shocked I say to discover there's gambling going on in this establishment...
I'm eagerly anticipating the imminent 5th Edition release, personally, but I was interested to know if anyone here plays and has a differing opinion on it. There are certainly plenty of people out there who seem to think that 40K 4th edition "only just" came out and that a new edition isn't needed. Anyone?
Warhammer Fantasy (including Age of Sigmar and WFRP) has its own thread here.

... And that's called jazz!New Dark Apostle announced, with a new mechanic. They can pray, which seems to be like guard orders, except each prayer can only be done once per round, and they only succeed on a 3+ roll (or a 2+ if another Dark Apostle is nearby).
Health sure is versatile. It's possible to be both light-headed and dim-witted. At the same time, no less.On the downside, its basic ability went from always being active to only on a 3+, which sucks. On the other hand, that's 11 potential abilities up from 1.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.It's a downgrade if all you wanted was the reroll aura (probably true for quite a few players).
The versatility will make or break it, basically.
I'm painting now. Wow I'm not great at it. These rough looking Dark Angels from the old paint kit are getting a rough looking paint job.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireNext Week's Pre-Orders: Havocs◊ and some sweet looking Terminators◊.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellI like the one who has a random guardsman's head on a spike. What a badass.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.I like that the others all have space marines.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireChaos' new models are pretty damn sweet.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984They're pretty nice. I'll probably get a few.
I was planning on painting my Shadowspear and Dark Vengeance (from the pile o' shame) chaos as Alpha Legion. As far as I know, its all compatible. A few extra marines and termites couldn't hurt. Probably need a Rhino, though.
EDIT: I say that as if I had something that isn't in my pile o' shame. I have five fully painted Necrons, one pack of scarabs and five partially painted Dark Angels from the old paint kit.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireHow to simply coax the Machine Spirits of your wargear as a humble Guardsman (spoilers:If all else fails, yes, charge with bayonets)

Holy cow, the new Slaanesh models look sweet...I've never been crazy about the bovine head on the Keeper of Secrets but the new model is so much better than the old one.
I'm going to put the pics for the new Keeper and new Masque into the Night Vision cleanup thread in Long-Term Projects to make them transparent before putting them on the Chaos Gods page.

These things would come out when I'm asleep Still that new Keeper is an awesome thing to wake up to. It is probably my favourite of the new Greater Daemons.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellNow I am a bit more awake, here is the news from Adapticon that Willbyr linked to for 40K
Slaanesh: Awesome Keeper of Secrets◊; Brilliant new Masque◊; Scenery◊; He could be Age of Sigmar only but there is also a new Daemon Prince character◊. It looks like the Orchestra of Despair (my Slaaneshi Daemon Army) is going to get some reinforcements.
There is a new Big Community Servey starting 15th April that includes a prize draw to win an entire army of the new Adepta Sororitas.
New Apocalypse Rules◊ as well as some new war zone books.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellApocalypse is interesting. I like seeing the Forge World models in the teaser.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaire40k movement trays. What a day.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies. How do those work? Fixed-size circular holes? Because considering the different base sizes it may be a bit of a bother.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Here is the preview video. Pause it and look at the Necron Warriors bases:

Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellSide note, I really hope one of these new warzones has some cool Eldar stuff lying around. I want to see what the Ynnari have been up to in the grim darkness of the year M42.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies. There are a number of Ynnari focused audio dramas, short stories and books such as the Rise of the Ynnari series that includes Hand of Darkness where Yvraine steals the artefact for Guilliman.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellMay's White Dwarf is going to have a Ynnari mini-codex supplement, so the odds of them getting an actual codex any time soon are low.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.TBH, an Astartes without their armor is arguably a lot more intimidating and unnerving than one in armor.
Disgusted, but not surprisedDefinitely true if they are that deformed.
From a brief glance, Word Bearers speak Enochian?
(It'd be interesting to see what the text reads. My bet it's probably an excerpt from the Great Table, if it is actual text at all)
