No 40K thread yet? I'm surprised. Nay, shocked, shocked I say to discover there's gambling going on in this establishment...
I'm eagerly anticipating the imminent 5th Edition release, personally, but I was interested to know if anyone here plays and has a differing opinion on it. There are certainly plenty of people out there who seem to think that 40K 4th edition "only just" came out and that a new edition isn't needed. Anyone?
Warhammer Fantasy (including Age of Sigmar and WFRP) has its own thread here.

Here. Yes he is awesome◊.
And yeah, The Masquerade would be more appropriate.
I'll see about rewriting it. Thanks

As long as Sanguinius never, ever gets a 40k model, I'm gucci.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Not a huge fan, but it's certainly true to the look that Black Library has cultivated.
I'm curious about what the special edition version looks like though.
There were troll pics circulating on Facebook a week or two ago of a fancy coffin on Dreadnought-type legs that was supposed to be Sanguinius' new model.
@Math792d: a page late, but I would argue the opposite, that Sanguinius was the most flawed of the Primarchs, at least at the baseline. When you actually get a good look at him when he starts to fray at the edges in the later books, he is everything wrong with Horus, Angron, Curze, et al dialed Up To Eleven. The difference is he tried the hardest, and was most successful, at rising above his flaws and failings; while recognizing his own hubris and prejudices. That is, lowest floor, highest ceiling, and he got close to reaching it before he died.

I was making a 'Sanguinius did nothing wrong' joke, for the record.

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Joking Mode, Humor Mode Sarcasm Mode. Learn them, love them, cherish them, use them when that is what you mean.

Bounty Hunters: Yar Umbra◊ & The Deserter◊
Hangers-On: Dome Runner◊ & Ammo-jack◊
Another Squat: Ammo-jack Ragnir Gunnstein◊

Hold up, were Wulfen already a thing in HH?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Not quite, but these guys were sort of the first people to suffer an 'early' version of the curse, similar to how the Red Thirst manifested during the Heresy but has gotten worse over time.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Yes, that was something of the point of the 13th Great Company, a.k.a. the Wulfenkind, who chased the Thousand Sons into the Warp. To quote the Codex: These ferocious warriors, their ranks riddled with a bestial genetic curse, were known as the Wulfen-kind. Since it's loss that day and for thousands of years thence, the Space Wolves had no 13th Company, and no Wolf Lord bore the badge of the Wulfen.
More reveals from Day 2 of the Weekender
Adeptus Titanicus
Battlefields Civitas Delta◊ & Gamma◊; Building Spire Tops◊; Expansion Doom of Molech◊; New weapons sprue◊ and some extras - Gatling Cannon◊, Quake Cannon◊, Carapace Gatling Cannons◊, and a Warp Missile◊
Black Library News
Buried Dagger◊ will be the last book in the Horus Heresy series and set things up for the sequel Siege of Terra series.
Standard edition of Angron: Slave of Neceria◊
Here is a map of the Sol System◊ as the Siege of Terra approaches.
Final Update.
After Book 8: Malevolence◊ (focusing on Blood Angels, White Scars and Daemons) will be the as yet unnamed Book 9 focusing on Dark Angels and Night Lords◊ with a full Dark Mechanicum list as well.
So we will finally get TT rules for Sanguinius, Khan and Lion, right?
I'm guessing so (I wasn't at the event am an only going off the Warhammer Community live blog that I linked to) especially Sanguinius as his model is next.
Those weapon sprues look very handy indeed for Admech conversions. Lascannon, rocket pods, shield generators, miscellaneous armour... My Biologis no longer have to steal pretty much all their cyborg arsenal from the Kataphron kit, excellent. Time for some beep boop Valkyries.

Quick question: Where do the Astropath D'Reyx on the Aeldari character pages come from as I don't recognise them and cannot find any reference to them on either of the main 40K wikis (not the best source I know)?
Edited by SebastianGray on Feb 5th 2019 at 10:06:47 AM
It's apparently from Dark Imperium.
Disgusted, but not surprisedCool thanks. Now the question is which Dark Imperium: the 40K starter set; the 8th Edition Novel series; or the 2001 short story anthologynote
It's gotta be the 2001 series, those quotes have been on those pages since 7th edition if not earlier.
Edited by Willbyr on Feb 6th 2019 at 6:00:29 AM
Interesting. After reading that I dug out my copy of the 2001 book and cannot find anything like that in there. The Craftworlders page quote also uses the Aeldari/Eldar name for the Nightbringer, who wasn't introduced until the 3rd Edition Codex: Necrons released in 2002.
EDIT: I also just noticed that the Drukhari/Dark Eldar quote uses the word bitch, which isn't a word Games Workshop uses too often.

I'm not where I can link to the site due to firewalls, but Sanguinius' Forge World model has been released. It's...not bad? Nice detailing but I'm not as impressed with it as I feel I should be, kinda like Magnus' model.
