No 40K thread yet? I'm surprised. Nay, shocked, shocked I say to discover there's gambling going on in this establishment...
I'm eagerly anticipating the imminent 5th Edition release, personally, but I was interested to know if anyone here plays and has a differing opinion on it. There are certainly plenty of people out there who seem to think that 40K 4th edition "only just" came out and that a new edition isn't needed. Anyone?
Warhammer Fantasy (including Age of Sigmar and WFRP) has its own thread here.

Sons of the Phoenix, anyone?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Quick question. The current quote for the Black Legion as a whole on the character page is actually a quote about Abaddon. Should this be changed to something about the legion itself? I was thinking the following:
I'm good with that if there's not something that's more concise and just as fitting.
It is a bit wordy but it is the best I can find. I will go ahead and make the change.
I've changed the pic of Deathleaper on the 'Nid page from the artwork to the model if that is okay. On a similar note Ghazghkull got a new colour scheme for the new Codex so do people think his pic should be changed to the new one?
I’d be down for that, if only because the new paint job is a bit more clean than the old one.
The new Titan should probably be mentioned on the Mechanicus page in some capacity.

Changed the pic. I'll have a look at the background material for the new Titan and see how it could be fitted in.

I've added a couple of bits for the Warbringer Nemesis to the Adeptus Mechanicus page.
Sorry for the triple post but I have another question. Today I edited the Space Marine entry on their character page to remove the reference to GW attempting to copyright the term and to actually put some in-universe context to the trope. The troper marcoasalazarm has since put the reference back. I have PMed the troper in question to say that such information should be put on the main Games Workshop page, not the Astartes character page as it is not pertinent to the Astartes themselves and was wondering if others agreed with me.
Discussions of copyright renaming are pertinent to GW, not the marines themselves.
Yeah, that's probably better suited for GW's page, and it may already be there.
Cool. As I said, I did PM the troper in question but haven't heard back yet (its only been a couple of hours though) so I will see if they get back to me on the issue (in addition I don't know if me deleting that section would count as an edit war).

I was wondering, do the current rules have an equivalent for 5E BS6 and above?
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Other than flat rerolls, not as far as I know.
What effect did that have outside of hitting on 2s?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Basically, if you missed, you got to roll again and on a 6+ at BS 6 (getting better as your BS climbed towards 10) you'd hit anyway.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.That. Was also very amusing with the assassins, since a Vindicare hit on a 2+ and got a 50% reroll on a 1, raising accuracy on their awesome rifle from 83.3% to about 91.6% or so. Not as good as a master crafted weapon with an ROF of 1, but very nice all the same.
As others have said, that isn't a thing any more but all characters with aura abilities are affected by their own ability so Calgar's Chapter Master ability gives himself a reroll on to hit rolls for example.
Going back to the Space Marine entry I mentioned previously. The troper who re-added the GW copyright attempt hasn't replied to my PM but, judging from their edits history, has been around making other edits. As a couple of other people here have said this was an inappropriate place to put this information I am guessing it should be moved from the Astartes character page but I don't know if it would count as an edit war if I removed it myself as I already removed it before marcoasalazarm put it back.

I feel that the background and look of the Scintillan Fusiliers is perfect for a story about some sort of Picaresque Swashbuckler who tricks people into thinking he's a noble, joins the Imperial Guard and has all sorts of (mis)adventures across the galaxy.

You know, after seeing the battlefleet 2 trailer with trazin speaking....it come to me that he is pretty much a funnier version of brainiac, specially with the idea of colecting stuff.
What do yiu think?.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"DCAU Brainiac was far more malevolent since he not only collected stuff, he wiped out the planets the stuff came from just to make his collection more valuable.
As far as we know Trazyn only "collects" things and people. He doesn't destroy entire worlds to enhance the value of his collection.

Disgusted, but not surprisedAnd DC comics Braniac has turned out to be more like the C'Tan.
Granted, That is because Trazin is sure those planet are going to die anyway so he didnt mind.
In fact, what faction and chararter of warhammer seing familiar to chararters in comicss?.
In general if you remove the powers, the kryptonian have a very eldar thing to me with their tech.

I imagine that Rowboat Growlyman may be somewhat mollified by the fact that he knows 100% that Calgar was created with his gene-seed. At least part of his opposition to Cawl's experiments came from the fact that Cawl suggested using the gene-seed of the Traitor Legions as well, much to Guilliman's opposition.
...Of course, Cawl probably went ahead and did it anyway just to see what would happen. At least with Calgar he can be sure there isn't some traitor soup involved in the process.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.
