Tagon always assumes that every reason is Petey's reason.

"You can reply to this Message!"So that little girl's crayon rubbings were kind of accurate after all?
Uh, yes? They were the basis for the entire project. Even if there still were inaccuracies (maybe the ship itself changed vector or speed slightly, or maybe the projected position of Sol system that it was calculated in relation to was inaccurate, any amount of reasons), they are still the base upon which everything was built.

The downside of being a nigh-omnipotent godling is that whenever you do anything difficult, everyone assumes it was easy for you.
I really hope Petey knows better than to expect sympathy on that point.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Incidentally, for those who backed the recent book Kickstarter, the Retrospective Sketchbook is being distributed.
I gotta love the slam dunk, and the look of elation on the giant's face. Just before he pushes it a bit too far and touches the rock.
And following on from that, we discover his name.
And get a new theory.
Hmm... is Cecil one of the uploads? Or an emergent intelligence?
I think Cecil's an emergent. The giant has been there since Thurl first came up with the Ragnarok scenario.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. In which we find that the virtual Tagon has as much trouble keeping both of his feet out of his mouth as his "real" counterpart:
Brilliant. I'm sure they'll explain it in more detail shortly, but what I'm getting is that civilizations flee the galaxy because there's just too much dangerous stuff, from upstart new races to bombs made out of the galactic core.
Ties pretty directly back to Evvin's definition of "oblivion".
Figured it out. Not sure if it's the meat Uptrobar who figured this out. After all, we just saw that the digital version was about to figure it out, and I doubt they would keep it a secret.
Howard loves simultaniety though, so I expect we'll see both Uptrobars figuring it at the same time.
So basically, just as how life eventually moves on from the undersea vents, the calderas, and such, civilizations that get advanced enough will eventually leave behind galaxies and, I dunno, transcend this mortal coil? Start civilizations in the dark between galaxies?
What if... what if one of those previous civilizations moved away from baryonic life and became the dark matter entities?
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Wouldn't surprise me at this point. Especially as at least one previous civ left behind something that actually makes Pan'urri.
The main issue would be translation of "self" I guess...
Even on a computer the wave pattern that composes a sentient being is likely still carried by the electromagnetic spectrum and it's associated particles, which does not interact (as far as we know) with Dark Matter

"You can reply to this Message!"As Kevyn says, any waveform can do. It may be possible to go into a pure gravitic waveform, that will then hook up some suitable dark matter particles and then will be able to continue to exist on its own, without needing support from the baryonic side.
Get off my lawn.
