It think if their was a cat or cat-like creature with that level of strength then I'd be legitimately afraid of it.
New NP, in which Shive tries for a copout, but still comes across as fanfiction nonetheless. And then decides it might be a good idea for the future anyways. Time well spent, Shive.
Hmm... if I'm following the thought bubbles correctly, it's Tedd's daydream, which is interesting since one of the complaints in this group is that Tedd and Grace is a boringly stable couple who are basically together because they're perfect with each other. I'm not really expecting any plot development involving them breaking up, but as someone who is happily married, I kind of appreciate acknowledging that being in a stable relationship with a person that you love deeply doesn't mean that you stop noticing other people, especially on a physical level.

They both have thought bubbles; it's a mutual daydream. I don't think Shive's implying shared thoughts or Psychic Powers—I wouldn't put it past this comic, but in this case I think they're just both thinking along the same lines.
Hmm, I did say Elliot. Do I get some cookie crumbs at least?
Writer, or something. And... a button? 🖲️I wonder what Nanase's mom is going to look like in Shive's modern style? The last time we saw her was before Shive started to perfect his curves which prompted some stylistic changes.
I'd forgotten what the point of this storyline was.

I don't think it had one.
The point of this storyline is that Shive spends a lot of time thinking about the logistics of superpowers.
Which we knew from all the exposition dumps on how magic works in his setting.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3."Shive spends a lot of time thinking about the logistics of X" could be the alternate title for this comic, really.
And his twitter handle. Both of them.
Seriously, the amount of unnecessary detailing, second-guessing and over-correcting that Shive does in his commentaries is absolutely baffling to me.
At least it's in the commentaries and not the dialogue these days.
Oh god, this entire arc is going to turn into a non-stop barrage of internal reveals isn't it? If so, then this might be the first time in months that I take a break from EGS.
Speaking of Shive over-explaining things...
Seriously, this one could really just be one large panel that said "One explanation about everything that has happened thus far later", and I get the feeling that's going to be a lot of comics in this storyline.
Hopefully there's a point to all of... it's just Shive feeling like he hasn't explained the mechanics of magic quite enough yet, isn't it?
It could be like. An attempt to recap stuff for newer readers who didn’t archive binge? Some comic books do that, but webcomics don’t typically have to, since the archive is right there at your disposal.
I mean, stretching things out by doing internal reveals is Shive's style.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Apparently I spoke too soon about that dialogue thing...
No guys don't you see. This is super important as it shows Nana Nananse now likes and trusts Ashley after distrusting her for no logical reason. This shows Ashley being accepted by the group and further removes any and all tension with her character making her one step closer to perfection.
There was clearly no other interesting way to do this or present this idea.

Eh, I read it as "Nanase is thrilled with the excuse to reveal the Secrets of Magic (tm, patent pending) to someone else to tweak Mr. Verres's secretive nose". Plot advancement.
I thought the last four panels were funny. It's good to see Nanase being playful and even a bit goofy. Seeing any of these very very earnest and responsible teenagers being deliberately silly is always welcome.
I don't know if she's being deliberately silly.
The whole "Nanase assumes Ashley is pure evil incarnate" running gag started because of Ashley's lack of inquisitiveness when they last met. Ashley was just like, "Oh, there's secret magic stuff you shouldn't share. That's cool. Tell me nothing. I have absolutely no problem with that whatsoever."
Nanase was creeped out by the fact that Ashley wasn't even a little bit willing to pry. Most people in her position would try to pry, but Ashley insisted that she was 100% content with being kept under the shroud of ignorance and didn't even make a token gesture to escape from it. Nanase found that behavior to be really weird.
When people aren't curious about curious things, it leads one to wonder if they're only pretending not to know about them. It's suspicious when someone is too polite. So now that Ashley's actually asking questions and shit about the weird world she's stepped into, Nanase's a lot more comfortable with her.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.In other news, we are moving on from that NP story into another video game parody.
My own cat is 14~15 pounds and she's pretty small as cats round here go.
She also can't open cans with her jaws.
I think.
