The titles of the Tennant specials have been leaked

1. The Star Beast 2. The Wild Blue Yonder 3. The Giggle

A trailer for the specials airs during Eurovision

Based on that first one, it seems like I was right about the specials at least partly adapting The Star Beast from the comics; this'll certainly be interesting to see considering that it was originally a Fourth Doctor story.

Trailer is up and confirmed the titles.

My thoughts are that this suggests that all 3 will be parts of one bigger storyline, presumably revolving around why 14 has the same face as 10. Which is hardly surprising to be fair but good to see it near enough confirmed.

I had a think and maybe the second special might be set entirely within a studio setting, like a ship. What if it's just Tennant and Tate in that episode along with one other special guest star?

The Radio Times comic strips that ran from 1996 to 1997 are getting a fan-made sequel Annual to further the adventures of it's TARDIS crew (Eight, a human and an Ice Warrior)

I've noticed that one of the few consistent details of Davros in the Classic series, that being the speaker thing, is absent in the modern series. I'm wondering if out of universe that was used so modulate the voice into being Dalek-like and it's just nowadays we don't need to do so for him

I really didn't like her original appearance, but so much of the original Colin Baker run got sabotaged by BBC politics. I'm hoping this will be a chance to see Mel in a new light, with a better writer.

If memory serves, Mel, like Six, got heavily rehabilitated by the Big Finish plays, so there's a chance that she might get a similarly improved treatment here.

RTD really likes Big Finish, so that'll probably help a lot.

Yeah, that's true; he even let Big Finish adapt the Sixth Doctor script that he sent to the BBC back in the '80s.

New cast member. Young actor with primarily comedy background. Not sure if it's a guest or recurring role but good to see more representation.

Doctor Who: The Collection Series 20 was announced, with a new minisode starring Janet Fielding as Tegan, with Cameos from Sarah Sutton as Nyssa and the return of the Mara

And the next wave of Target books were announced for January 2024...the 60th anniversary specials

The minisode was interesting. I've not kept up with the expanded universe books, but (spoilers) the reveal about Tegan's feelings for Nyssa caught me by surprise. Is that new?

If so, and if I was interpreting it right, I do hope Tegan's been living her best life and not closeted for decades

Hope that actually gets followed up at some point.

Tegan had a big part in Jodie's finale teaming with Ace, she mentioned she had been divorced at least twice.

What's interesting is that the idea of Tegan and Nyssa being a couple was mentioned in the Elizabeth Sladen tribute minisode "Farewell Sarah Jane Smith" but it appears to have been retconned as an alternate timeline now

Unless that happens after this point in time. The only thing we know for sure from that is that some time had passed, but how much was always up for debate.

Also the whole thing with time being always in flux.

Also a fun thought someone in the comments brought up: Imagine if the ad was also part of the dream/nightmare, and things just started getting really weird.

Perhaps, but in the nightmare they're very specific in mentioning that "In One Universe we are together"

Finding it rather hilarious that Tennant's second swan song episode is going to be called The Giggle, assuming that it's the episode where 14 finally regenerates into 15.

I just hope Tennant's final lines are far more hopeful this time around unlike his first regeneration as 10 which was far more fearful and tearjerking.

Also why isn't the 14th Doctor's character page listed alongside the other Doctors?

Probably because we don't actually have much material for him in the TV series proper outside one scene and a few trailers.

True, though seeing as he's played by the same actor as Ten, should Ten and Fourteen be merged or be given something to mark that he's played by a former incarnation once his section gets moved as soon as the first episode drops? (Such as by bolding or using italics?)

I think we need to see if they're actually the same character or not. Because if 14 doesn't really act like 10 beyond basic stuff, merging the folders would be a bad move.

I dont think so anymore then we list the meta crisis one on 10's page. Also I think it depends on what happens with his characterization.

Also assuming you mean giving him his own page when you say "his section gets moved", 14th can't have a page unless he reaches 40,000 bytes.

Either way like I said it is best to wait and see how he is characterized.

What's 14's current byte number at? And will the specials be enough to push his page to the required byte number?

14 is currently only at 5,116 bytes. As for if the specials can do that. War Doctor is big enough with mostly his tropes from 1 special.
