IMO The Impossible Planet is much scarier than The Satan Pit. 'Specially the part when that engineer girl gets killed. I had nightmares about that.

[up]

You mean when the dude is standing outside of the base without a spacesuit, and causes her to get Thrown Out the Airlock?

Yeah, that was pretty creepy truthfully.

RTD and issues.

Her analysis on Rose is spot on, especially when comparing her actions in Doomsday and those of River in Series 6 finale and the reactions of fans.

It was me, I confess.

It makes me sad when people don't like TIP/TSP, because those are the only episodes of series 2 that I actually like.

He's the Doctor. He could be anywhere in time and space.

Jack from Shabogan Graffiti makes a decent case against them, as does Simon-Bucher Jones. It's sad that I've found those arguments so compelling, since I also really enjoy the episodes.

Ian Levine has located more episodes in Taiwan, including interestingly, Enemy of the World episode 6. From his Twitter account:

"Found five more Dr Who eps in Taiwan including Enemy Of The World 6. If only I found them sooner. Two Ambassadors eps, Marinus 6, Krotons 3."

[up][up]Somebody's getting a life-sized Dalek. Hopefully not one from the New Paradygm.

Go Taiwan! may not have been much with only 3 new episodes, but every episode counts.

So, he found nothing we didn't already have? Or are these colour versions of The Ambassadors Of Death?

[up]Yeah, they're all duplicates, like the last five he found in Taiwan. Although six months ago, Enemy of the World 6 would have been huge, prior to the reveal of the Nigeria recovery of the entire story. I think the point of these is still that this was a previously unknown avenue for possible recoveries, and it's hoped that with two lots of five turning up in the last few months that there's more out there to find.

These were episodes sold to the American Forces Television during the Vietnam War, which is something I'm not sure was really known prior to a few months ago. I had certainly never heard about it.

I doubt the Ambassador eps are color. As far as I know, most of Pertwee's episodes sold overseas were black and white telerecordings, though there were some Pal tapes sent out for his later episodes (Death to the Daleks 1 I think was a tape). I think Invasion of the Dinosaurs episode 1 was the last b/w telerecording.

Yeah, I was mostly clarifying for the other posters. It is good news, for sure.

Another nice bit of news, courtesy of Outpost Skaro. The idea of bringing back Paul McGann for an episode is actively being looked at after the great reception Night of the Doctor got, and apparently McGann is all for it, given the usual caveats of schedule and scripting.

...honestly, thinking about it, doing it as a one-shot special between seasons and maybe hiring a Big Finish writer to handle it might be a good idea, especially given the eight-months-minimum hiatus.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

When you say "a life-sized Dalek," you mean a Dalek prop, right? Because I wouldn't be terribly thrilled about getting an actual Dalek.

Unless it was one of the Ironsides from VOTD. I'd love to have a loyal Dalek butler. We'd snark at each other and have adventures.
