Really? Really?! I guess the RPG format makes reusing your villains less silly, although only slightly. Memnarch is crediting themselves for calling this twist... did anyone else see it coming?

Oh, and Jim finally gets in an apt metaphor. I think the world is ending.

Episode 2148: Resistance Hits: Futile

Hey, guess what? That super-obvious vulnerable point on the Peace Moon's superstructure isn't so vulnerable after all. I guess the bad guys learned something, finally. Also, the GM had an adventure plan and it's not this?

How often has the GM's adventure plans survived contact with the players?

I wonder why he even bothers making one at this point. But what did he expect to happen if he assigned roles as both the heroes and villains to his players? He's known these people for years.

Law of averages, maybe? Play enough campaigns and maybe one day, one day the fates will smile on him and the players will actually do what he wants for once.

Droid: Weren't you suspended today? You shouldn't be here.

Obi-Wan: If I was suspended, I wouldn't even be allowed in this building. Since I'm here, I'm apparently not suspended.

Droid: That makes sense...wait. Have you even left the building today?

Obi-Wan: Well, thanks for your help, bye!

And just like that, Corey's friend comes to the group and plays... Rose.

Then they break up before Episode IX and the GM has to toss out her plot arc.

That's a thought that occurred to me before and I'm of mixed feelings about the idea. A player leaving the group between campaigns does seem like the most logical reason for Rose's demotion to background character in Episode IX, but I kind of don't want it to happen because it would effectively require the Irregulars to introduce and then drop a new character, so we would still have a lack of closure.

That'd be weird anyway, since in-universe Rose is ostensibly Finn's love interest, and Finn is played by Annie. If someone's brought in a campaign by their boyfriend, you'd think they'd want to play as said boyfriend's character's LI in-game.
