I can agree that's what Tony probably intends, but I have zero confidence he won't eff it up and/or Annie won't negatively misinterpret him.
I'm in the same boat.
Personally, I'm voting for a tearful good luck, if only for the shock value.
Writer, or something. And... a button? 🖲️I predict something along the lines of a stonefaced 'I believe in you.'
And then we're gonna party like it's...
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.D'awwww.
Ergh, that was a red flag phrase.
I'm reminded of a similar scene from Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban. Tony's toast, isn't he?
Spiral out, keep going."When this is all over, I'm going home to live with my daughter. Because of the way her mother died... Well, we couldn't see each other for years. A lot of years. But we recently started talking, and I just know things are going to get better between us. We're going to work things out and be a real family again, I just know it. Here's a picture of her. Ah, I can't wait for this war to be over."
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise. What is that from?
It's the Fatal Family Photo trope, bascially. It's an illustration, not a quote.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youWell, it was... interesting knowing you, Tony.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%."I realized my dad was okay actually and then he died" would be a pretty unsatisfying way to end all this.
Yeah, I don't think the story is done with him yet. Besides, has anyone really died in this comic yet? Best I can think of offhand is Jeanne passing on, a bug being eaten and some suicide fairies. Stuff like that.
Coyote.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youMort. (...if you disregard that he started the comic dead...)
Moon◊Coyote is more likely shenanigans than resting in peace.
He on the other hand, definitely counts.
Yeah I don't think Coyote is truly dead, exactly. It feels more like he's letting Ysengrin do his own thing what with that little taunt when Ysengrin couldn't break the barrier.
Does Eglamore count as a father figure for Annie? I thought she was uncomfortable around him because of his fixation on Surma.
The same could be said about Anthony, too. Heck, Ys said as much during one of his pep-talks.
Jimmy Jims was shown to be consistently protective of Annie. That alone qualifies him.
Spiral out, keep going.I always took being a father figure to be more of a mutual thing though. Something both "parent" and "child" acknowledge. Annie's discomfort about Eglamore, which I can't remember offhand is still a thing or not, would remove that part of it where, while that discomfort exists with Anthony, too, he actually is her father
Jimmy Jims definitely wishes he was Annie's father....
Anyway, Annie is definitely not going to enjoy seeing Eglamore yell at her father. If she felt uncomfortable around Eglamore before, this new outburst certainly won't help.
As a side note, it's pretty interesting to note that after having seen Jones and Tony in the same scenes....Jones comes off as the more expressive and emotional person.
Tony's just odd.
But I like how there are good points being tossed around, even Jones thinks this is a good idea.
The Eglamore/Tony dynamic is an odd one. That old "I feel bad for you" "I don't think about you at all" gif comes to mind.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.
Yeah I'm on side too.
