- Here we are
Darling brother
How pathetic you've become
Not that you were anything special,
- You didn't even have potential,
To be half as great as me...
You're an exile and a traitor,
- I'm a soon-to-be dictator,
and I think we can both agree...
you look better in an apron serving tea...

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Right, the various people trying to make an Avatar musical. Here's hoping something comes from that.
"I think we can both agree...
you look better in an apron serving tea..."
Not wrong though.
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimSo you say that I'm a monster
Well I don't disagree
Even my mother thought me evil
So evil I'll be...
...hits me somewhere deep that I just had to share this.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Suki is getting her own graphic novel next summer!!
Looks like Dark Horse is finally making content for the characters that actually need it! Although I do wish they would actually do content post-Imbalance.

That's cool! Getting some perspective on her time in the Boiling Rock would be an interesting story. I was actually thinking about that earlier. Maybe it'll start with how the Kyoshi Warriors lost and how she got sent to a separate jail.
She needs more time interacting with Aang, Katara, and Toph, though. Like:
- She and Aang just ended a graphic novel where they decided to stay and help the place that would become Republic City get used to benders and non-benders coexisting. That's a really important story.
- How did Suki's non-benders self-defense force mold into Toph's metalbending policing force?

The sad, REAL American dichotomyI love how, probably a decade after this show finished airing, we're getting stories about
- what happened to Zuko's mom
- Toph fighting Bumi for title of Strongest Earthbender
- and now what Suki went through when Azula captured her
Like the reuse of "alone" too; Zuko Alone was a memorable episode, but it's become memetic for the character-centric stories from the TLA universe.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I think it's more likely that Suki's non-bender self-defence force turned into the Equalist army. The beginning of the foundation of Toph's metalbending school was shown in one of the other comics, so there's not much mystery there. If you mean the transfer of power between the two, that would be cool, although I'm not really sure whether Suki's self-defence force was ever the main law enforcement in what would become Republic City.
There is no war in Ba Sing Se.Suki and Aang actually had really great chemistry in Smoke and Shadow and Imbalance. I would love to see more of their friendship in future works.
In fact, I would say that Suki has been a highlight for the comics in general.
- what happened to Zuko's mom
- Toph fighting Bumi for title of Strongest Earthbender
- and now what Suki went through when Azula captured her
I personally can't stress enough how much I am over the Gaang being kids. Like they're not even young adults at this point and it's a really big missed opportunity.
It really feels like they're afraid to try something new. Or they're probably holding off in case Nick wants to do a huge Avatar comeback.

Two of those three are new, though. At least, answers to questions some of us had or didn't know we wanted an answer to.
There's a couple of stories that I want, that haven't been written. The first 3 I really want, but the others would be nice extras that could be cool as even a short story:
- How Iroh went from proud Fire Nation General to Iroh as we now know him, in a matter of less than 5 years.
- Sokka and Suki getting betrothed, for some sweet sweet closure. Also, what do water tribe marital ceremonies even look like?
- Not canonically confirmed, but it needs to be
- How Sokka and Zuko, in their 70s, fought against the Red Lotus
- One last Aang and the Spirit World story.
- Possible Air Acolyte stuff:
- What did Ty Lee do in her adulthood or later days? This isn't even a matter of "What happened to all of the old main cast?", I'm just particularly curious about Ty Lee. Did she become an Air Acolyte, or was it too stuffy for her aura? Even an offhand mention in anyone else's story, like the Sokka and Zuko one, would be interesting.
- What happened to the Mechanist and his kid? I imagine they would've happily been Air Acolytes, but also could've played a hand in the industrial revolution.
And then after that, I think I'd be happily done with the ATLA crew for a while. But there's a small handful of other stories I'd like to see:
- The biggest part of the universe I could see lasting the longest: I'd like to see more focus on previous avatars, preferably via one-shots.
- Maybe stories of Kya and Bumi when they were younger, while Aang was training Tenzin. What were some of Bumi's actual battle stories? Who did Kya come out to first? What were their roles in society like?
- Maybe a story about Korra set 5 years after LOK.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyI second wanting to see Iroh's spiritual journey, preferably after we get more of an idea of how he was before Lu Ten's death so we can see how he redeems himself.
It's been 3000 years…When they said in Season 1 that Iroh had been to the Spirit World I was completely expecting them to tell us something more about that and was shocked they never followed up on it.
I could go for an Iroh story, or one about that one Avatar that was hunting Koh in the Spirit World.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I think Kya was just a jobless hippy who traveled the world finding herself before Aang died which is why she and not her brothers with careers moved to the South Pole to take care of Katara. I think if she's ever actually had a job, its probably as a healer/doctor.
An Iroh story seems a little overdue actually. I don't mean that in an entitled sense, but more in a "you're sitting on a goldmine" kind of a way. Of all the characters explored, you would think that would be one of their go-tos. Also, I believe his past was originally going to be explored in the series but they decided to drop it.
Honestly, there are plenty of stories that fans actually want to see that are in pretty high demand, especially for a technically ongoing franchise like this one. Avatar also made a point in setting up a plethora of different characters in different time settings, each of them having pretty devoted fans. The franchise's popularity has also grown pretty exponentially over the past few years.
Actually, the story about what happened to Zuko's mom came out in 2013, in "The Search" comic, and is itself almost a decade old.
Optimism is a duty.Though it did come out five years after the original show finished airing. So half a decade.
Disgusted, but not surprisedMan, this show is old.
Optimism is a duty. It's been 15 years and the fanbase is still strong.
It's more like the fanbase got an eletric shock with the migration to Netflix.
Tomorrow the youtube page will be holding a 2 hour video on prejudice and inequality in the series, anchored by 2 superfans of the series, who I assume are the ones who did the last such video.
Also, remember the irony that in the final battle pants were the only thing Ozai was wearing?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyInteresting portrayal of Azula and Zuko, but more an excuse to expose this awesome song.
Preview pages for Toph's Metalbending Academy one-shot have been released, and...
Suki is a super-fan of the Secret Tunnel band. Also, quite possibly, the beginning of pro-bending?

The sad, REAL American dichotomyNow that is an interesting character quirk.
Sokka probably broke up with her because of that.

As I mentioned, he had to surface to actually attack.
