• Ensemble Dark Horse: Mike Taylor. His impressive beard combined with his tendency to be silent in almost every video led to him becoming the Memetic Badass of the band.
• Fan Nickname: Mike Taylor, based on his stoic nature in the Walk off the Earth video, has become known as "Beard Guy". Other band members even refer to him as such in videos.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: This parody starts with a joke about Perpetual Poverty and goes on to mention that "Sarah" got knocked up by someone in the band, which is especially funny now that the real Sarah was indeed pregnant.
• Memetic Badass: Mike Taylor, also known as "Beard Guy". Nearly all videos that involve him will have him staring throughout, and a few have him popping up out of nowhere midway through.
  Youtube Commenter: the beard guy knows all the secrets of the universe you can see it in his eyes
• Tear Jerker: Mike Taylor's sudden death in December 2018.
  • The song the band wrote for Mike after his death (appropriately titled "Mike's Song") qualifies as well.
    Of all the places we have seen, this one makes no sense to me.
