- Alternate Character Interpretation: Is Scott as mad as the rest of the cast, or is he just Genre Savvy enough to realize that he's in a sitcom and can get away with pretty much anything?
- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- "Onwards and Upwards" centres on a proposed 60-storey apartment building on the Gold Coast, which Tony's bosses have to get past height restrictions. They do so by designing it in the shape of a gumleaf and passing it off as a "landmark". The same week that the episode aired, the Victorian Minister for Planning signed off a 90-storey apartment building to be built in Melbourne's CBD, described as "a landmark development." And just like most of the projects on the show, that project fell apart, their second attempt also fell apart, and they sold the site to another developer.
- "Then We Can Build It" has Jim pressuring the NBA into investigating the possibility of building a new stadium in Tasmania, which Tony sees as a white elephant that the people of Tasmania don't want or need. This perfectly predicts the reaction to the announcement of the Macquarie Point Stadium in 2023.
