  • Memetic Mutation:
  • That One Boss:
    • Epic Siege on Kor. The commander summons a Rat Catcher every turn, which can immobilize you and Phase you as well, blocking that unit from being affected by your own friendly activation skills. The core structure cards are some of the deadliest in the entire game, including the Cannon Wall, which has 15 health, and in 3 turns it Enfeebles all of your units, making them take 2 additional damage from all attacks and then proceeds to Strike all of them for 3 damage (after the effects of Enfeeble). There's also the Cluster Mine, which has Counter 10, which will pretty much kill any of your units that hit it. You think you can just Siege away those structures? Well, it also has two of its own version of the Gatling Tower, which will Strike one of your own units for 4 damage, inflict Chaos on all of your units, turning all of your own attack skills against yourself and thus blocking any Siege strategy you might employ, and Sieging all of your structures for 2 points of damage, all after only 2 turns. If that's not enough, the randomly generated player-available cards can make it even worse, including the Metalworks, the Usial, the Radio Officer, and Orwold's Reckoning, all of which can summon even more enemy units in addition to the commander's Rat Catchers. Most of the other raids have at least one counter deck with a 95%+ win rate, but when this raid was first introduced, the best possible deck only had a 57% win rate. Once the Grimclaw was introduced, it got easier, but the best possible win rate right now is still only 77%. Not only that, but the boss has 1.2 million health, and requires great contribution from all of the maximum 40 people to kill it within the 3-day period.
    • The recent addition of Epic Lithid may be harder than Epic Siege on Kor. The core cards will tear you apart once activated, especially the Lithid Claws, which will create duplicates of themselves, speed up the activation of other assault units, and heal all enemy units for 4 health. Meanwhile, its specially-designed Xiotics will Counter you for 4 damage if you attack them normally, they boost the attack of all enemy units by 2, and they automatically heal and rally themselves by 3 (or 6 if it's sandwiched between 2 Xeno units) every turn with their Legion skill. Meanwhile its Lithid Cannons will freeze your units in place, copy your skills, and boost their own attack power with their attacks with Berserk. If all this wasn't bad enough, if a Medusa shows up as one of the randomly-generated player-available cards, you are already dead. If you attack it normally, it will Stun you for a full turn, Counter you for 3 damage, and summon a Mind Controller for more Counter damage and more targets to deviate your Strike skills from their desired target. While all this is going on, Lithid itself is Augmenting these skills, striking one of your units for 3 damage, and Enfeebling all of your units by 1. The win rate for Epic SoK has shot up to 85% with the Apocalypse pack, but even with these new cards, the best deck still has only a 70% win rate for Epic Lithid.
