  • Derailing Love Interests: When the exclusively-Chinese "TrueEnd" DLC was released on January 28, 2022, it quickly earned the ire of its fanbase due to character assassination, earning a thousand negative user reviews in roughly a week. An explanation for English-speakers comes from Steam user VR3 on the DLC's announcement page:
Tbh, this so called "True End" looks more similar to a Doujin. All character's characteristics just break, and the whole plot is too unacceptable. It is the continuation of Violet route, but at the beginning of the story, Violet want to break up with the protagonist because the protagonist want to completely cut off the connection with Daisy. And the whole story pushes its plot by continually hurt Daisy and Sunny. For the more, the storyline also has conflicts with the before games. And it just disgusts everyone, no one is happy with this so called True End, even those who loves Violet.
In other words, maybe it's luck for u not understanding Chinese and do not have to suffer like us. My heart just got broken in to pieces on release day, I do not know what did Daisy do that makes the writer hate her so much. For people who loves Daisy like me, it is totally trash. I do not mean that there must be 2 lines in a True End or it must be the continuation of Daisy's route, but in millions of ways they can make a True End in an all-happy ending, they choose the worst method to kill all those who love this game, who have been waiting this "END" for 5 years.
