• Memetic Mutation: "I see it all, I see it all, I see it all..."
• Nightmare Fuel: One of the more infamous cases in the band's discography (which is saying a lot), with the biggest offenders being the title track, "93 Ave B. Blues" and Apostate.
• Sweet Dreams Fuel: While the majority of the album is unadulterated Nightmare Fuel, the tracks "Song for a Warrior", "Avatar" and especially "A Piece of the Sky" serve as levity from the madness.
• Win Back the Crowd: After the middling reception their previous album My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky received, many were left skeptical about Swans' reunion. That skepticism was laid to rest with this album.
