YMMV / The King Must Die

Go To

  • Narm: A bandit referring to Theseus as "goldilocks" and Asterion referring to Poseidon as Theseus' "fish-daddy" are a bit difficult to take seriously.
  • Spiritual Successor: Edison Marshall's novel "Earth Giant" similarly tells the tale of Heracles in a more mundane way, while also referring to Theseus as being dead before Heracles' time rather than having them be contemporaries and making reference to the Trojan War as having already happened, much like how The King Must Die makes reference to Agamemnon's murder, despite that being after Theseus' time.
