YMMV / The Grape Escape (1992)

Go To

  • Awesome, but Impractical: Like Mouse Trap (1963), it's fun to watch the crank operated machine in action as it flattens the grapes, but there's way too many pieces and parts for this device to properly make juice from grapes instead of making a giant mess. The Rube Goldberg Device is also a pain in the ass to setup, because it has rubber bands no five year old lacking dexterity, could tie together. If not setup properly, it'll jam or fail to work as intended.
  • Catharsis Factor: Watching your opponent's grape get destroyed by one of the hazards at your own hand when you roll a 'Turn Crank' from the die. Though this can quickly backfire, if your piece is also on one of those factory floor stations.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: Though meant to be played as a board game, children and adults were memorized instead by all the grape figures getting caught, steamrollered and squished by the Rube Goldberg Device contraption.
