YMMV / The Exit 8

Go To

  • That One Level: Many of the more subtle anomalies can end up being missed several times over before a typical player catches on. Happen to run into one when you're right on Exit 8's doorstep? Have fun being sent back to square one with no idea what you did wrong!
    • One of the most infamous is the face-shaped stain on the ceiling. It tends to blend into the environment even if you know exactly what you're looking for, let alone if you're not familiar with it, and it is very easy to overlook it and thereby ruin your run by proceeding and getting reset to Exit 0.
    • The anomaly where the paintings on the left wall slowly increase in size is particularly mean, especially since it can't be properly observed unless you spend an extended period of time in the hallway watching the growth.
    • The anomaly in which the yellow floor tiles gain a smooth, liquid-like texture instead of their normal bumped texture is a nasty one, since not only is the deviation from the norm absolutely miniscule, but none of the other anomalies specifically require you to look down directly at the floor. Even worse, due to the way the altered texture looks, players with lower-end PCs might simply assume that the tiles didn't render properly due to their lower graphics settings instead of it being an actual anomaly.
