YMMV / The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell

Go To

  • Audience-Alienating Premise: The show's failure is often attributed to advertisements not properly establishing if its a Gothic-themed cooking show or sitcom, not to mention whether or not it's meant to be for kids or adults.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: In episode five, the cake Christine bakes for Rose’s birthday looks just like Rose…before she’s reanimated and her organs exposed.
  • Informed Wrongness: In episode four, Vivienne tells Christine that Evelyn tried to kill Lucille. However, in the previous scene when Evelyn was snooping around in Christine’s room, it’s clear that she didn’t come close to killing Lucille but reacted the way most people would upon finding a giant hairy spider on the floor.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: One might think from looking at the trailer and seeing the puppetry used that this might be a family friendly series similar to The Muppets or Sesame Street. The dialogue - which includes references to Rose's libido or getting the clap - isn't necessarily suitable for younger ears.
