- Narm: Wanda's belly-dancer outfit (apparently created because Wanda is Busiek and Pérez's favourite Avenger). It does sort of ruin any dramatic scene when she's dressed like... well, a belly-dancer.
- Never Live It Down: In some circles, Carol Danvers's alcoholism storyline is still a black mark on her record, regardless of the fact she eventually recovers and tries moving on.
- Tough Act to Follow: This run was followed by the generally held to be mixed Geoff Johns run, but the deck was going to be stacked against damn near anyone to follow on from Kurt Busiek anyway.
- Values Dissonance: Wanda's justification for switching to the belly-dancer outfit is "getting in touch with her gypsy roots", as opposed to Romani.
