  • Awesome Music:
    • Mortimer's Chipdisko is a rather groovy chiptune track that is widely considered by fans to be the most iconic song of the game.
    • Bright Thunders is a song that incorporates a bunch of motifs from the Forest world's themes, accompanied with an amazing piano.
  • Demonic Spiders: Oh god, the Igels in the Forest world! They can only be killed by an explosion, crushing them, or hitting their head with a fireball. Naturally, most levels they appear in don't allow for the first 2 choices, and they turn around whenever you try to shoot a fireball. You basically have to CORNER them just to kill them!
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: The Mario franchise itself would introduce a penguin powerup with New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
  • That One Level: You'll be surprised by how many there are in such a cute and simple looking game.
    • "Think fast, or die," from Bonus Island 2. This level is an Autoscrolling Level with a LOT of harsh and precise jumps. And, as the name implies, you can't stay still for too long, or else you'll die.
    • "Missingno," from Incubator Island. It's not fun to look at, objects are placed without any real rhyme or reason, and the level is VERY long.
    • The Ghost ship in Adventure to the New World 2. Like "Think fast, or die," this level is an autoscrolling level. An autoscrolling level that doesn't have checkpoints. Which also takes a long time to beat. The creator even acknowledges this in the description of their playthrough of the add-on.
