• Fanon: Despite that the summary says that that the story takes place in the year before the farmer arrives, many readers prefer to assume that in reality it takes place over the course of several years, to better account for the rapid decline of Pelican Town's community center after the JojaMart opens, as shown in the comic.^note Still, it can't be more than 2 years prior. Since, Haley and Emily's parents are not present, and the latter mentions in the game that their parents left 2 years before the farmer arrived.
• Salvaged Story:
  • After criticism from the main game that the farmer was the one who solved all the troubles of the valley, in this comic we see all the villagers coming together to tackle the Governor's visit by setting up the first Luau festival.
  • Some players contended that in the game JojaCorp was never shown doing anything really evil, and were a case more of Offscreen Villainy at best or Ambiguously Evil at worst, this comic shows how the decaying state of Pelican Town is a direct result of the opening of JojaMart.
