- Epileptic Trees: A popular theory was that the novel would be a Resolved Noodle Incident about Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's mission protecting Satine Kryze during the Mandalorian Civil War, which was first mentioned in The Clone Wars. This ended up being jossed.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Fanry's cousin Lamia could have been a nice suspect as the mastermind, but she's never even mentioned until after Fanry is arrested and a new monarch is needed.
