• Fridge Horror: Even far into the future the Federation seems to consider AI to only be an imitation of life and not truly alive, with Zora being a key exception classified as a new lifeform and not an AI. What do they think about Gray (who was resurrected only a few episodes earlier), or for that matter Soji and Picard centuries earlier? And as dangerous as Control was, Kovich in particular doesn't consider it to have been truly sentient.
• Memetic Mutation: One of the pictures previewing the episode showed a group of delegates. One of them was an alien with a green faceless head with spikey bulbous protrusions all over its head (With it's species being called Ckaptir). Many fans have teasingly called the delegate “Ambassador Dandelion” or “Ambassador COVID” due to their resemblance to both.
