- Awesome Music: Bach's "Ich ruf' zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ" is used very well. Eduard Artemyev's score, meanwhile, consists of some very atmospheric Dark Ambient pieces made with the extremely rare ANS synthesizer, and holds up really well for anyone who likes Ambient and Drone music.
- Nightmare Fuel: Burton's description of his vision over the Solaris ocean is pretty disturbing.
- Special Effects Failure: The scene where Hari crashes through the door looks a little silly.
