- Bizarro Episode: The null game, which you have to lose if you are the declarer— in fact, you not only have to lose, you must not get a single trick, even if it's worth zero points. If you get even a single trick you lost the round.
- A common house rule is that if all three players pass, they have to play a game of Ramsch, where the object of the game is to win as few points as possible. The idea is to "punish" whoever had the best cards, yet chose not to play - after all, if everyone has bad cards, surely they'll all be delighted to play a Ramsch, right?
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: The game still enjoys considerable popularity in the Polish region of Upper Silesia. Justified, since for centuries this part of Poland was profoundly influenced by German culture and still had a large German population before 1945.
