* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Yanagi Tousei sacrificing himself to save the others from the killer mantis creatures, although it was meant to show that deep down he cared about the kids, feels very out of character more than anything else, considering how prior to that he verbally and physically abused the team members and attempted to ''rape'' Hana, all of that, combined with his misogynistic views of women, make his death come off as more cathartic and karmic.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: More a subplot, but Hana's attraction to Aramaki could ''easily'' have been given to almost any of the other female characters, like Fujiko or Akane, and given them more depth and expanded on their personality.
* ValuesDissonance: [[SeriousBusiness Ango and Ryo]] eventually run into [[QuirkyHousehold Team Summer B.]] HilarityEnsues.

* WhatAnIdiot: For several characters, who are deemed to be decently intelligent or prepared for danger, they sure do stupid things.
** Several of the Summer A candidates, ignoring potential danger or thinking things aren't so bad. Even when they are ''told'' that the Final Test means getting no help from the teachers, that it's basically 'like they had been flung into the future suddenly', they still think it's all just a test and nothing bad can happen.
** Unami for bursting into the room where the Team Summer A members are and continuing to bully and order them around, despite the fact that they all hate him by then and at least one said she was going to kill him if she got her hands on him. And all of the members had guns.

* BaseBreaker: Hana and Ango, among others. But those two stand out because fans of one tend to hate the other, due to their interactions in canon.

** Unami for bursting into the room where the Team Summer A members are and continuing to bully and order them around, despite the fact that they all hate him by then and at least one said she was going to kill him if she got her hands on him. And all of the members had guns.
** Hana continuing to snap at Ango despite it being ''very'' clear that he hates her because of [[RevengeByProxy what her father did to him and the others]] to the point of annoying him that he tries to rape her.

* UnfortunateImplications: [[http://www.mangareader.net/7-seeds/84/20 Akane's reaction]] upon finding out that Ango tried to rape Hana can be taken as a way of saying that raping ''single'' women is okay... as they don't have boyfriend who will protect them?

** Hana: Canon Sue who stole Natsu's spotlight, or a flawed but admirable girl who has an unfair advantage surviving in the post apocalyptic future because she was raised to do so, if less traumatically than the Summer A members.

* CanonSue: Hana can certainly feel like this to some readers. Hana is the best trained 'civilian' out of the groups; [[JustifiedTrope justified]] as her father specifically wanted her to be raised to know how to survive in the wilderness. But she is among the characters who get more emphasis in arcs (the other generally being Ango), is the first to cut her hair and even spawned a mini-arc around the rash she got that needed to be cured, her [[NoOneCouldSurviveThat presumed death]] and her being on her own, before meeting up with Fujiko and Chisa again. Even the Mountain/Ocean arc seems to put emphasis on Hana by having people more concerned about ''her'' than about the other characters that are known to currently be unresponsive.

* HollywoodPudgy: When Team Summer B reunites after splitting up several chapters earlier, Semimaru mentions that the constant wandering, toiling around and general surviving has gotten rid of his excess fat and slight belly he had gotten from his lazy, smoking and drinking ways of living before being cryogenically frozen. Simply an InformedAttribute since we never get to see his stomach before he supposedly loses the extra weight and he was in no way differently drawn from anyone else.

* MoralEventHorizon: Ukai crossed it either when he [[spoiler: used Shigeru's good nature to lure Ango into a trap to kill him, then tried to shoot Shigeru]].
** Whether Takashi crossed it while he was one of the teachers during the Final Test or in the Ryugu Shelter [[spoiler: when he decided to cull some of the inhabitants, so that the others could live]] is unclear, though [[RedemptionEqualsDeath his redeems himself]].
