YMMV tropes for "Commuted Sentence":
- Tear Dryer: Rocko gets fired by Mr. Smitty despite finally getting to work on time after a desperate struggle to get to work on time in spite of multiple problems impeding his commute...but he gets a happy ending after all when he gets a job...towing cars...and the first car he tows is his now-former boss's.
- Values Resonance: To this day, this episode is still quite on-the-nose about how much harder it is to get around American cities without a car and a license, as well as bosses who have absolutely no understanding of how employees' performances (like being on time) can be affected by circumstances beyond their control (like having one's reliable means of transporation getting taken away from them).
