• Alternate Character Interpretation: Was Alice’s denial about Hal being a killer in the first two seasons real or did she believe he could be and was trying to keep everyone from finding out the truth?
• Fridge Horror: The fact that not only was Alice forced to cover up the murder of a deputy, she had to literally have the body hidden under her feet and lie to everyone, including Sheriff Keller and and the deputy’s family. She’s indirectly responsible for a cold case murder.
• Jerkass Ball: Reggie is suddenly the bitter ex, joining up with Percival and trying to steal the Babylonian from Veronica when he was previously shown to be more emotionally mature and calling out Veronica on her inability to be in a stable relationship or be independent of men.
• Pandering to the Base: Veronica and Archie kissing is completely irrelevant to the story and characters, and flips the continuity between Reggie and Veronica on its head to even happen. Likewise, replaying full clips of Jughead and Betty’s romantic relationship from past episodes, which has been over for 8 years in canon, while Tabitha doesn’t appear for the second episode in a row seems gratuitous at best.
