  • Alternate Character Interpretation:
    • Were all of Old Bill's men involved in raping and killing Mrs. Conway and framing Jimmy, or were some of them just collateral damage? Notably, the flashback scene to the rape only appears to show Nine men, when Jimmy ends up killing ten, in addition to two who Shane killed and one who committed suicide.
    • There are a few instances when it looks like Jimmy drags out tormenting Old Bill's men rather than killing them immediately, such as when he shoots Slim in the knees and later uses him as a live decoy for Old Bill's men to shoot, or when he takes the time to play a song on the jukebox while Ted is cowering from him. Is he just relishing in their fear and wants to hear them beg for their lives? Or is he drawing it out because, in a twisted way, he wants Old Bill and his men to feel the same terror his wife went through when she was raped and killed by them?
  • Awesome Music: Stevie Wright's "Black Eyed Bruiser"
  • Faux Symbolism: The Panther is supposed to be a reference to an actual panther rumored to be roaming the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, even though the panther is not a native Australian animal. It's a common Australian urban legend appearing all over the inland.
